Don't go out that often but went to the Rose tonight. My wife ordered a very, very , well done steak. Came out red, sent back, another steak came out ten minutes later almost rare. Manager apologized and gave us a refund. Ruined our night, obviously chef incapable of cooking a well done steak. No accountability, assume they have solved the problem by giving us a refund. Absolutely pathetic Rose Hotel !!!
1st time at this establishment. Called to book as we were driving up home from Denmark and manager managed to fit us in (following distancing restrictions of course) Upon arrival, greeted warmly and seated promptly. Even the young lady at the counter was friendly and welcoming even though they were busy. My child has dietary restrictions and the menu has ample vegan and gluten-free choices which i loved - even glass noodles, well done guys. Food came out quickly less than 15minutes from ordering. Serving sizes were big, so it's value for money. What else can I say, we will definitely come back
We new the Rose Hotel was old but the web photos looked quite ok. We were very disappointed with the room as it was VERY old. The wood furniture looked extremely tired, the colours in the room drab and dull and the shower recess in need of renewal (lots of mould). There appears to be an old and new section to the motel units, Rooms 1-11 older than 12-26. We were in the old section. Due to covid restrictions, the Restaurant was full and extremely busy. Meals were quite good.
Delicious meals at the hotel. Beef cheeks were succulent and full of flavour. Nasi Goreng was delectable. Fantastic atmosphere and the meals were served surprisingly quickly for such a busy restaurant. Staff were fabulously made up and dressed for Halloween which added so much to the ambiance. Room was comfortable. Only low point is there is mould in the shower grout. Overall it was an excellent stay.
It’s honestly not easy to write a complaint during these times but was disappointed today when we visited the bar for a drink and some lunch. It’s a Tuesday and the bar was not busy (5 people including us two in the front bar). I waited to be served and was the only person at the bar needing service. In 10 minutes, 3 different staff members saw me waiting to order and didn’t acknowledge me. We left and went elsewhere. I then called to speak with a manager and left my number. No call has been received. I love supporting local but will be going elsewhere now.
