When arriving in Maafushi we had to change our hotel as it wasn't comfortable. We went to check for availability in Arena and the receptionist was very kind and found us a room with a sea view. The beds were comfortable! They cleaned the room every day perfectly! The view from our terrace was amazing! The staff did the extra mile for the guests to feel good! Everyone was very kind! Rooms are very clean. The hotel is great value for money and the beach is just in front! They organized official Christmas dinner for all their guests and did a really nice job! Everything was very nicely decorated and beautiful and the food was delicious! The hotel organizes boat transfers to the airport and tours. Check out was at 12 and our flight was at 19h and from the hotel they even provide their guests with a shower room available after 14h so we were able to enjoy our last hours on the beach without worrying where to have a shower. We enjoyed our stay very much and we highly recommend it! Thank you for making our stay in Maafushi so pleasant! We definitely would like to come back again!

The hotel is right on bikini beach, the only beach you can stay in bikini. The transfer from the airport to the hotel was well organized, I received all the necessary info to find the hotel attender at the airport and to reach the boat. Baggages were completely managed by the hotel staff until the room. The room was completely new, clean, large enough for three people. Bathroom as well. WIFI connection was ok into the room, reception and on the beach (only in the part in front of the hotel itself). You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant on the beach. You have a buffet solution really cheap and with different dishes ever day. Restaurant prices were cheap, at least about dinner (I had breakfast included into the solution I payed) and I did not have lunch only because of several escursions I did. A lot of people staying in other hotels came to have dinner at Arena hotel restaurant. Some days you we also had live music with local groups or singers. You can have beach beds and umbrellas for stayring at the beach. They have a limited number of that. Maybe it could be usefull to have more beach umbrellas because the sun is really really strong. You cannot stay without :) Even if there are a lot of shadow areas on the beach. Beach was absolutely clean. The staff was super: guys that cleaned the room so kind, available for everything I needed. The guys at the restaurant very friendly, amazing, nice at all. A special reference to Sudeep and Zahi :)

We stayed at the Arena beach hotel for 7 nights over Christmas 2019 . Overall we had a great time . The hotel excursions, snorkeling with turtles, mantaray sharks etc were brilliant . The price was reasonable the adventure are fantastic specially Sami and Tiki, they looked after us very well and made us feel safe and secure. Food was ok, and the kitchen staff are very friendly and attentive. The live music is good . We also can say the hotel location is the best of the island with great views and located right on the beach. Our room had a brilliant sea view and was comfortable, it was cleaned everyday by more cheerful friendly staff. Also bottled water was provided every day and toiletries replenished. The hotel has two parts, we were in the older part which was showing signs of wear and tear. Also there were many constructions taking place on the island including directly next to the hotel. This was a bit of a shock at first but the postitives of the island outweighed the negatives for us.

Being one of the biggest and renowned hotels in Maafushi island, we expected a high class service from this property from the beginning. But we regret to mention that the trip did not go as expected. The disappointments started from the reservation stage itself. The replies took so much time, more than 24 hours mostly. Almost all the replies came with half of the information we asked, and the rest of the inquiries were left unanswered. Hence, it took a lot of time to clarify all the requirements before we finalize the trip. We travelled for a very special occasion which was highlighted clearly in reservation stage, but unfortunately was never acknowledged during the stay. The hotel was crowded at the time of check-in, and several miscommunications occurred during our first day itself. The room was smaller than expected, but we loved the bathroom which was spacious. Though the room was the Seaview Category, we only had a little glimpse of the ocean due to the block from the hotel restaurant which was right in-front. Non availability of information brochures/kits in the room at all, non-availability of iron boards, and hair conditioner as bath amenity were several other discomforts. The HK service was always quick, but they also forgot to replace the towels after the service. The electricity in the room went off twice as well, however was back after a few minutes. The lunch buffet was also another disappointment. The choices were less, and the tastes were not good compared to the price charged per head. We find lots of great dining options all over the island, where you could have food of way better quality and much cheaper. After all this, there are some things we loved about the hotel as well. The numerous choices for excursions and watersports, the pool and the bands that play in the evenings. Especially, the band that played on Valentine’s day. The vibe they created was so good. We also appreciate the amenities which were distributed for the Valentine's celebration. That was indeed a lovely touch.

From the beginning I have to say that Maafushi is a place that gives one the opportunity to see the Maldivian real life, so if you are interested in luxury just choose a resort. Personally I preferred Maafushi to a resort, but I felt tricked by the good reviews of the hotel. Most of them have nothing to do with the reality, but still it’s not my intention to write a bad review, just to present some facts about my staying here.
First the photos presented by the hotel are not accurate. The place doesn’t look like that (maybe it looked some years ago). Right next to the building construction works are conducted and if you have the misfortune of having a room on that part of the building you need good nerves because the noise and dust are horrible. We had the chance of having the room changed but we had to insist a lot ... If the sea view rooms are available is better to book such a room.
The hotel has a good position, bikini beach is just in front, but if you want a sun-bed and an umbrella you have to wake up early.... they don’t have enough umbrellas for all the guests. Sometimes even the towels were a little bit problematic.
Outside restaurant, very nice to have the morning coffee with your feet in the sand, but not a lot of choices for breakfast. The dinner buffet much better (with more choices).
The staff was really nice, always smiling and trying to help even if sometimes the result was quite the opposite.
We spent the new year in the hotel and the party was great, very well organized.
One major plus for the daily trips. All the staff involved in the trips was very nice and helpful even for those who are not very good swimmers. Special thanks to Sabbe and Tike (hope that I spelled the name right) for the trips and amazing photos.
So if you don’t have much expectations for the hotel and just want to experience the real Maldive and good times snorkeling, diving and doing water sports, Arena could be a good place for you.

Maldives is known for breaking your bank and it could be true, but if one considers this TOP Hotel in Maafushi island, you will definitely be much more then satisfied.
This place has the most friendly people and staff ever, always happy and do what ever it takes to make you comfortable and satisfied. From waiters, kitchen staff, reception, tour organizers, photographers and even room cleaners. All these are always smiling and great to have a conversation with. Arena hotel is spacious and clean and all rooms have spectacular views of the sea. Breakfast and dinner (since we were half board) were amazing. Every night, there is lots of entertainment and is very joyful and relaxing. We all felt like at home and our children were always safe and happy. This hotel deserves more stars and the staff more credit for the work they do. A dream come true and most beautiful ever. I cannot mention all staff names as every single one in anyway made us happy and enjoyed talking to, but would like to mention Moosa Umarmanik who as soon as we have arrived in the hotel, took care of us to the extent that he also arranged a special occasion for us on a private sandbank (organized beforehand with no trouble at all) and making sure everything was just perfect. Arena beach hotel keep up your good work and friendliest service ever, you all are really hard working people.

Me and a friend had a very pleasant stay in the hotel. It is nice that from the arrival they organize airport transfers which make it easy for the newcomers, situated in the beach, food was tasty and with different choice ( the dinner was fantastic-we added it when booking), the rooms were clean and equipped with supplies. We stayed in two types of rooms -standard room( no windows but we slept very well due to the lack of that much natural light), and deluxe with the sea view - the view was amazing 🤩 . It it nice that the beaches in front of the hotel are clean, offering free umbrellas, towels and chairs and you can wear your favorite swimsuit, taking a lot of pictures and enjoying different water sports offered. We do recommend to try some of the trips the hotel organizes like snorkeling it was great experience.

very good staff nice except one of the housekeeping was rude. comfortable for family and relaxation. niece trips one time cancelled our trip due to no enough number of participants beachfront. however, needs to clear the beach from sharp things so people who is swimming will not get injured.

What a lovely place. The accomodation is very clean and they always have delicious food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff is very friendly. When you arrive there, say hi to Lorenzo. He always can make you smile and he wants to learn a lot from you. The only downside of the accommodation was that the room next to us was being renovated without any information being passed on. We complained at 11.30 pm that they were still busy doing odd jobs and that we woke up (so our flight went the next evening). If we hadn't complained, I think they would have gone on longer in the evening. Then they started doing odd jobs again at 7.30 and we had a very short night rest for our long journey home. Next time write a note for the other rooms.
But that was the only downside. We can say it's a very good accommodation. You can always e-mail for questions and they will help you further. There is also someone waiting for you at the airport to take you by boat (if you let them know when you will arrive and not go with the local boat).

We were Arena is definitely in top 3 hotels in Maafushi in terms of facilities, quality of the restaurant and location, no question. But what makes it stand apart is the service in both restaurant and the hotel.
They have gathered amazing people to be part of the staff which is really a game changer. For our 8 day stay at the hotel we have only met friendly people who are genuinely happy to see, interact and assist their clients.
I would like to mention Brij who works at the restaurant of the hotel and express my great gratitude and appreciation for what he is doing and the attitude he has towards his job. You can see that he loves what he does, every time you meet him. He is always happy to see you and go the extra mile in order to make sure that the customers are really taken care of.
Also, the guys from the hotel part like Ismile are very friendly and kind. They make sure that your room is clean, fresh and tidy every day. Ismile is great at decorating the rooms for birthdays, honeymoons or other special occasions.
The guys who organise excursions like swimming with sharks, mantas, etc. are very helpful and kind. Even if you have never went diving, they will make sure that you are feeling comfortable and safe and they will even take some pictures of you underwater.
The words above apply for most of the staff in Arena and I am extremely happy that we stayed at this hotel.

Snacks are pretty good but prices a bit different from other places around, all inclusive I believe ends at 10:00 p.m. there is not really any city center in maffushi because it is quite a small island where you can go around in 30 minutes walking.
There are more places to choose from in the Maafushi Island area.
