We spent two nights at Summer Villa and only can say positive things about the experience. Our booking was for a ground floor room, but as there was still other better rooms available, they decided to upgrade us, which was really nice. The room is big, with hot water shower, mini bar, safe box and even adaptors. They provide beach towels for free and you can use their snorkeling gear just by leaving a depo, returned to you upon use. Is a family run business, where the dinner is cooked by the owner's wife; completely recommended and the best price in the island as well. If you want maldivian home made cuisine (and inexpensive) come here! There is life music after dinner and it is served on the roof top of the guesthouse. If you are looking for a good value and maldivian experience in Maafushi, this will be your choice.

I stayed here from the end of April to just after the beginning of May and it was a very satisfying experience! I was on Maafushi for 1 week and this guest house provided everything one could want. Upon arrival on Maafushi, there is a rep from the hotel holding a wooden sign with the hotel's name on it and they have a small cart which they'll load your baggage onto and then go with you to the hotel. * Wifi is free in the room and even though I had forgot my international adapter for my laptop, they had one for me to borrow (and was free of charge!) They also have a little outside patio which guests would frequently use in the mornings and evenings to sit, eat, and talk, as well as an inside lounge with a small eating area in the back. On the top floor, (the rooftop), they offered a buffet dinner every evening and was a different array of foods each night and was super peaceful being outside and enjoying dinner after what was usually an eventful day. FYI: the breakfast I think was complimentary with your booking but the dinner had to be payed for each night, was $10, but was a buffet so you could take as much as you wanted to eat! I chose a smaller room since I was just a solo traveler and although it is quite basic, the main thing is that "it works each day" (haha). The room I had (which was right near reception on the ground floor), had it's own toilet/shower, small table with chairs, and a minibar (which was great because there is a small convenience store near the hotel where you can buy things like additional water, crackers, cookies, and even small croissants, and then keep them in the refrigerator for later consumption. For tours, they offer a HUGE array of half day and full day excursions to all different locations and a really great benefit is this: IF you're a solo traveler, (like myself), and want to make a booking to an excursion, be aware: you WILL be charged double the price. However, IF there are other people (even 2 people), who decide to go on the same tour as you on that particular day, your price will be slashed in half so what could be a $90 charge if I was traveling alone, it will drop all the way to only $45! This will REALLY be beneficial if you decide to do a full day trip to some of the high end resorts which will be VERY expensive if done independently. I ended up going to Olhuveli Beach & Spa (which I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend going on), and thanks to a group of Lithuanians who were going as well, the price was slashed. Thankfully so, as going solo to this resort would have been VERY pricey! In fact, all the tours I did luckily had the company of others so I didn't have to pay exorbitant prices for ANY of the trips I went on. I also highly recommend going to Picnic Island which is a completely uninhabited island, and feels far from the rest of the world. Conclusively: the tours were very well organized, all which provided lunches, and made for extremely enjoyable days on what was a beautiful island nation! Reception was also always helpful in providing info about anything you had questions about, and you can exchange both U.S cash and Rufiya (Maldives currency), and normally you will book and pay for any tours the night before the excursion although sometimes they would invite you to go on excursions the morning of the event if there's availability and you can just pay then. In summary, I believe this accommodation is a good choice if you're seeking a decently priced hotel and one that offers great deals that will fully satisfy your time in what has got to be one of my favorite island destinations I've ever visited before!

Stayed here for 4days until I couldn't stand it anymore. Don't be fooled by other review's, its as bad as it can get especially considering that this is in Maldives. Its an old run down building very near the prison, far from any shop. I say: AVOID at any cost. Your money is all they care about. They will steal it if they have to. I had to pay more then total stated on booking.com upon checkin. And they could not even explain why. I payed for a room with Wi-Fi and a TV. Neither the WiFi or the TV did ever work, the only answer you will get when pointing it out is "maybe tomorow" ,the floor in the room was so disgusting i could barely walk on, with huge stains of bugs that have been crushed or whatever that was. Very old furniture and the fridge smelled so disgusting and was about 25 years old. The toiletbrush was so worn out that there was hardly any brush left. That shows how cheap they are. Trying to sell you excursions and dinner which was the most awful food i ever tasted and had to pay for, an old cooked fish wrapped in foil over the grill not even on, to make it look like ur getting fresh BBQ fish, breakfast is not much better, prepared in an small dirty not air conditioned old kitchen. Upon checkout when pointing out that there was no WiFi, no TV and my room could not be locked, because the lock was broken,(keep in mind I pointed this out to staff several times during my stay) she didn't even care, all she kept repeating was " give me 8dollars for the dinner. I wanted to talk to the manager, receptionist lied saying she is the manager. And was extremely rude, don't trust other reviews here, choose another place AVOID at any cost...
