Lovely hotel with great sea views over bikini beach The Maldives are not suitable for drinkers as booze is not allowed here but the u hurried pace and lazy days make up for it Staff are very nice at the Kaani Grand Food is buffet style .. could be better to be honest . Not much in the vegetarian line that I would eat . Breakfasts are better than dinners All in all a nice stay

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed 11 nights at the Kaani Grand and it was beautiful! We had the honeymoon room on the 6th floor and it was HUGE. The view from the balcony was just beautiful, it was really clean too. The breakfast wasn’t the best we’ve had but every morning we left with full tummy’s! We were half board so in the evening you go round the corner to eat at Kaani Palm hotel… yes the food was a bit samey same each night but we still enjoyed something each night! The main thing that made our stay perfect was the staff… Hassan one of the mangers was just the best! He bent over backwards to make our stay in the Maldives perfect, and all of the guys that work in the restaurant’s were just brilliant 🤩 well done Kanni group! We will be back.

The hotel is located near to the beach and has amazing things to offer for e.g trips to Vadoo, spa area and a great breakfast area. For dinner you can join the restaurant with tasty indian food. Friendly staff and everything was very clean Jusika, one of the waitresses, will be especially remembered. She welcomed us every morning with a smile and was super kind and caring. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable 😊

We stayed in the King Suite. The hotel had only one of them and it was the only room in the top floor. The lift didn't go up there, we had to take the lift to the second highest floor and take the stairs from there. Even though the room was called a suite, it had only one (pretty large) room (plus the bathroom and a large balcony with wonderful views to the sea over the beach). The room was divided in two parts by a 1.5 m tall divider. The other half had the bed, the other a small sofa, a desk, a few chairs and a TV. There were two aircon units. The room had plenty of universal power sockets taking many different types of plugs and also some USB power sockets by the bed. The hotel had a metal roof. Every morning at sunrise birds came walking on the roof, creating a loud echoing sound from the metal roof and waking us up. The bathroom was nice. Water in the shower was warm and there was also a jacuzzi. In front of the sink there was a window into the room instead of a mirror and there was only a smallish mirror on the side. The floor was mopped every day as a part of the cleaning, but the carpet wasn't vacuumed and it was quite dirty. The bed had one big blanket. We need separate blankets, but an extra one was not available. Instead we got only an extra bedsheet. We then kept the room temperature a bit warmer in the night so that sleeping with a bedsheet only wasn't too cold. The hotel was relatively new, but the first signs of wear and tear had started to become visible. E.g. the sofa in our room had a lot of stains in it. It was not a luxury resort, but a pretty standard hotel. There was aircon only in the rooms, so the corridors were quite hot. In the lobby and in the restaurant there were fans to cool the air. The bikini beach was located right in front of the hotel. It had fine, white sand, turqoise water and sunshine throughout the day. The Kaani hotels had some sunbeds on the beach, going on a first come, first served basis. The hotel had no pool. Breakfast was served quite early, from 6:30 to 9. When going around 8:30 it was usually quite crowded. The selection was ok, but the quality pretty average. Many of the food items had a lot of oil and the taste was nothing to write home about. As a positive, there was a live eggs station. There were three Kaani hotels next to each other. Each one of them had a decently priced restaurant. Kaani Grand had an Indian restaurant, providing also room service. The hotel had their own speedboat to and from the airport three times a day. Independent tour operators had more services, so you might want to check them if the Kaani boat schedules don't work for you. The good thing in using the boat of the hotel was that upon arrival luggage was delivered straight to the hotel and on departure it was picked up from the hotel lobby. We had to walk ourselves to and from the jetty in Maafushi, but it was only a five-minute walk. We arrived on the first boat of the day, getting to the hotel before noon. We were asked to sit in the hotel lobby while our check-in was processed and we were brought apple juice as welcome drink while waiting. The check-in took quite long. After about half an hour we were told that our room wouldn't be ready before 2 PM. In the end it was ready at 1:30 PM. On the day of departure we took the last Kaani boat at 5 PM. Check-out was at noon. While waiting, we went to the beach and after coming back from there we were offered the opportunity to have shower in the neighboring Kaani hotel. We had to change our clothes in the bathroom, which was super hot because it didn't have aircon. They also offered a waiting lounge for $10 per hour per person, but we didn't try it.

We arrived by speedboat which was awesome. The staff were exceptional especially Tiger. All our expectations were met. We had breakfast at Kaani Grand and dinner at Kaani Palm which was next door. The meals and service was great. The view from our hotel room was breathtaking as we watched the sunrise and sunset. Night fishing and lunch on the sand bank was part of our package and this was a fun experience. The highlight of our trip was the candlelight dinner on the beach as we were celebrating my husband's birthday. It was magical. Will definitely recommend this hotel.

I would never every stay here, and would not recommend anyone to stay there, watch out, watch out and watch out. We booked through Agoda supposedly a 4 star hotel, and the trip by speed boat paid for. Now, once arrived at the airport, the boat did not leave for addition 2 and half hours. Once arrived, there was no payment made, even though Agoda charged me for the trip and hotels. Then I paid for it for the second time and disputed the previous charge from Agoda. Once arrived at the hotel, took them over two hours and gave us a room at the village and spa, that is currently under construction and I have many pictures to prove that. No receptionist or services at the hotel. Internet and service is horrible, they would not accept any MVR and apparently their company policy is to once accept dollars and no other currency, could not show me any proof, I have audio recording from the FNB director Hasan and manager to reiterate that company policy is to not accept MVR. I have reached out to Maldives business burea and other departments. They were rude and could not explain their policy, when they are in Maldives and yet would not accept MVR. Also Agoda stated that there will be two beds and it was only a queen size bed and they can not provide any bed.

Kaani Grand Seaview offered amazing holiday experiences for both my mom and I. My mom enjoyed ocean view from the room balcony, Indian food, juice, relaxing on sun bed on the bikini beach. I thoroughly enjoyed the snorkeling excursions. We did Real Break and Full Day snorkeling tours. I have snorkeled before at several sites in hawaii and Mexico but the visibility in Maldives is like no other site. Plus the Sandbanks are breathtaking. Staff at Kaani is warm and welcoming. Y tones provide speedboat transfer from/to Male airport at $25 per head. Island is safe for enjoying late evenings and the vibe is super fun.

We arrived by speed boat which was so cheap! The view from our room was beautiful! We loved spotting the cats relaxing on the beach! So cute! The cats on the island are so well looked after and so friendly you can hold and pat them all! We enjoyed excursions every day! The hotel organised our tours for us. We did the whale shark swim which was all day. We saw one and swam so close to it! Big day on the water and will need patience and a sea sick tablet if you get unwell. We also packed snacks for the day. The best tour Was the day we got to swim with the nurse sharks and get heaps of photos! So much fun! We then went to the clearest most beautiful water at a shipwreck with the most amazing fish and calm waters to enjoy! We had lunch on a sand bank and drone photos taken which were amazing. The food was average on the whole island, we mostly ordered club sandwiches to get us by in the afternoons from the hotel. If you want a alcoholic drink you can get a dingy out to the party boat with the lights out in the water and order beers. The pool on the roof top is nothing to get excited about. Just a swim at the front on the hotel is fine but not the best beaches compared to other islands. This trip was all about the excursions for us as the next place we wanted to snorkel, relax and eat.

Good - We stayed 5 nights in room no 309 which is a family room with 1 double bed and 2 single beds. It has a balcony with partial sea view which was a bonus. Room is specious and comfortable.  Bad - We took one excursion tour with them named "the Real  Break Vaavu Explore" the guide of that tour Named Loura.  She was arrogant and very rude with us throughout the trip which was really unpleasant.   Loura was more attentive to white people and didn’t give us enough time to take photographs,  even I didn't get a single picture or video of mine during snorkeling.  I asked Kasum of Kanni Grand reception to find out my photographs as he convince us for the trip - but he didn’t response at all. Later We took the same excursion in another day with another company (icom tours) which was wonderful. I also found that Kanni Tours charge 10$ more compared to other tour operations in every excursion and Resort day trips. For example I took "Day tour in adaaran club rannalhi resort" from Icom tours which costs me 100$ per person. The same package is charged 120$ in Kanni Tours.  So my advice is to avoid Kanni Tours and water sports activists.  They are not good at all. Also the food in the restaurants of Kanni Grand is not good & testy. Very limited breakfast menu.
