Our stay at Kaani Grand Maldives was fantastic! The location is unbeatable, just opposite Bikini Beach, which made it incredibly convenient for us to enjoy the sun and sand. While the breakfast options were somewhat limited, there was always something Western available, which we appreciated.

The staff was awesome, going above and beyond to make our stay special. Even though it’s a budget hotel, they added thoughtful touches, like a welcome drink on arrival, that really uplifted our experience. We also found it very convenient to organize everything through the hotel, from excursions to day passes at other resorts, and even our transfer back when their speedboat wasn’t available.

Overall, it was a great stay on a local island, which turned out to be a highlight of our trip!

The hotel is located right in front of the Bikini Beach,so you have direct access to the beach sunbeds(free of charge for hotel’s guests).
The staff at the restaurant was incredibly friendly and made our stay there a pleasure.
The room is confy, it has everything you need.
The room walls were a bit thin and you could hear the noise of the hotel staff cleaning the other rooms in the morning, but that wasn’t such a dealbreaker.
The view from the balcony was really nice, though.

The breakfast could use a bit more variety(almost no fruits at all).

As holding work permit visa for 5 years in Maldives, had heard a lot about Maafushi regardless of the locations, hotels and activities. And this time My friend and I decided to make this trip and recently visited Kaani Grand sea view.
You can take the speed boat transfer from either Male the capital or from the international airport. Both of them are convenience, we took the transfer from airport as we have luggage kept at the luggage storage. The speed boat transfer took about about 30 minutes to reach the island. At the moment we arrived at the jetty, hotel representative Kawsar received us, and escort us to the hotel. He is very helpful and friendly by helping us check in and giving all the informations needed.
Accomodation was spacious and clean with beautiful sea view in front of you comes with a balcony where you can chill spending sometimes having coffee and even sun bathing. Thanks to our housekeeper Masud who clean our room every morning without you even realized while you are having your breakfast.
Kawsar also very helpful by giving suggestions of excursions. We took a package for island hoping and snorkeling with lunch included. We enjoyed a lot especially the last snorkeling point with full of colorful fishes surrounding you closely. The boat crews and captain are all very helpful on the boat and assist for non swimmer and guide them closely for snorkeling too. They are assisting all the guests taking photo and videos while you are in the water, in the evening time of the day you can collect all the photos and videos they are making for you especially.
Regarding of the meals, they they have their own restaurants. The package we have included breakfast. There are plenty of local restaurant nearby with delicious food and some authentic local cuisine.
My friend and I enjoyed at the Sampa spa. We had madicure and pedicure and as well 90 mins of massage. We both enjoyed it.
Floating bar is something you should experience while you are in Maafushi. There will be a dingy to pick you up everything 5 to 10 minutes from the jetty to the yatch. You can either go a bit earlier for the sunset while drinking or a bit later in the evening. We decided to go late night as there will be a DJ till 0130hrs midnight. DJ plays very good music, strongly recommended this activity.
Overall we enjoyed the stay very much. We will surely come back by any chance. Thank you.

I stayed in Kaani Grand Seaview for 4 nights this December in a family room (sea view with balcony). Honestly, it doesn't feel like a 4* hotel.

First of all, the hotel doesn't have a swimming pool. However, they provide a complimentary buffet breakfast with room booking. The breakfast menu is not varied. Every day, I found more or less similar items to choose from. Almost no fruit items.

Room amenities are the most poor side of this hotel. They don't provide facial tissue, room sandals, liquid hand soap, or dental kits. When I asked they said it is not in their policy to provide these (they provided only dental kits when I insisted relentlessly).

Their room cleaning service is also below average. Even when I put a sign 'please clean up the room' and got out of the room from 7am to 11am they didn't clean my room. When I got back in the room I had to call reception twice to tell them to clean my room and provide water bottles/tea or other basic everyday stuff.

Even after that, they said my room would be cleaned at 2.30 PM! And they didn't do it before that!! I had to wait till 2.30PM in the uncleaned room.

Their cook Mr. Emdad was well-behaved, cordial and tried to help. However, his access is limited as you can understand.

Overall, I don't recommend staying in this hotel. They charge a premium price but in return, you will get poor services.

Our hotel stay at Kaani Grand Seaview had a number of issues:
1. Check in process was extremely slow. The staff there asked us to fill out forms with basic details that they could already obtain from our passports that were provided to them for check in process.
2. The wash basin was broken and despite raising this with the reception, it was only fixed on the last day after strongly complaining.
3. The housekeeping did not provide body wash in the bathroom, when we complained at reception they did nothing and told us check after we come back from our day trip if the housekeeping provide this while cleaning the room. When we complained the following day that there was still no body wash - the receptionist instead blamed us for not letting her know sooner that it was still not fixed
4. We requested room service to send us sugar packets atleast 3 times. But no one bothered to send them. - When we complained at the reception, they did not apologise instead behaved in a very aggressive manner with us. Later the housekeeping staff who came to check in on us apologised and told us that the reception never informed them of our request.
5. When inquired about snorkeling trips, they showed no interest in our queries and provided little / no information and quoted 3 times the rates than another reputed tour operator on the island.
6. The breakfast spread each day during our 4 day stay was exactly the same and quite stale. As a vegetarian, our only options were bread, butter, cucumber, oatmeal, oranges and stale roshi with curry which was clearly reused from their previous night's dinner service. They provide same items every day and offered no variation.
7. We travelled as group of 3 couples which Kaani was aware of, however they refused to give rooms to us on the same floor and make no effort to adjust
8. Our tour operator flynote.in told us that we can use the pool atop Kaani's new hotel - Kaani Palm Beach. However, the staff refused to let us use that pool and made no effort to accommodate our request.
9. During check in we had to carry our own bags to our room.
10. They refused to rent us any snorkeling equipment if we wanted to snorkel at the local beach. Other hotels at Maafushi do provide that service.
11. The staff in general was not welcoming or friendly, and pretty rude when we gave them feedback. They took no interest in our experience. Offered no advice on what excursions we can opt for. They took no ownership of their shortcomings and kept blaming us or their housekeeping staff.

The only good thing about this hotel is its location and view from seaview rooms.

Disappointment!
Hotel in front of the beach, is the only thing I can point positive.. We had scheduled the transfer at the airport through the hotel, no one showed up nor gave us satisfactions, it was 9pm we had to be able to put on our own. They didn't let us check in until we confirmed if we wanted Christmas dinner, a shame. The internet does not work and breakfast is basic, we pay a lot for what is “offered”. Not really worth it, there are other much better hotels on the island.

We arrived at the hotel amidst a storm and 4 hours earlier than the designated check-in time. The manager on duty Mr.Kadir was an absolute star, he arranged an early check-in for us as we were drenched from the rain. He was super friendly and always greeted us with a smile and ensured that we had a comfortable stay. He assissted us in booking tours, getting discounted rates and shared some tips for our onward journey. The hotel itself is rather basic. The room was spacious and clean with a balcony facing the ocean. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the bathroom was rather clean. The breakfast was an international buffet with a good variety for adults and kids alike. We had a pleasant stay overall and would highly recommend the property for a budget stay, total value for money.

The room is reasonable but with overvalued price for the quality of the service, on the first floor with sea view. It does not isolate the noise from the outside, so every day from 5 a.m. no one can rest, with the knots of the crows, people and motorcycles, the night with the beats of the bars. Staff of the reception antipatic, without a smile and something to scratch the offensive, on the day we had spoken in the transfer from Malé to Maafushi no one appeared at the airport nor said anything, we had to unravel ourselves, when we arrived at the hotel we had almost three hours waiting to give us the room, and did not want to make the check in if we did not confirm accept the Christmas dinner, it was a general confusion, because we had to change 3 times of hotel within the same chain because there were no rooms available for the desired dates in the same hotel.... The breakfast is buffet (normal) but the food is has many Indian flavors, only has French toast for Westerners, poor in fruit, variety and quality. It's not worth the whole price you pay. This applies to the entire kaani hotel chain in Maafushi. On the beach are also disorganized waiting if hours for them to put on a sun lounge and a sun hat because you never see anyone to do it.... In short, bad service and very expensive for the little service they offer.

Firstly all staff wears masks (not the case in arena hotel near by) and there are desinfectant dispensers everywhere.

Bikini beach is just in front of the hotel and free sunbeds are available for hotel guests.
If you wake up late you can always rent a sunbed for 5 USD from the other provider.
The ocean in front is kids friendly, with warm, shallow water.

Room(deluxe seaview) is decent sized, newly furnished with amazing views from the balcony. Safe and tea/coffee facilities provided. Bathroom has walk in shower. Beach towels are provided.

We ate dinner every night at the restaurant and it was delicious and fresh. Fish(mainly grilled tuna),chicken, veggies, spaghetti, rice, soup, salads and deserts among the choices.

We had lunch at kaani palm near by and it was not so good. Bland, fast food like.
Also kaani grand is quiet and relaxing but kaani palm is at this moment surrounded by construction noise(expanding the hotel) so noise until late in the evening is certainly an issue at kaani palm.

Staff is well organized and friendly giving the final touches to a great stay. They also arrange PCR test at the nearby hospital (85usd ,result in less than 24h).

Don’t get fooled ! To start with the good side, the room is wonderful, cleaned properly, amenities of a 4 star hotel are there, the view is absolutely stunning, the sunsets from the 6th floor… Breathtaking, could not ask for better.
Now the not so good side
Staff needs a proper training, how to deal with guests, arrival experience 1 star to be fair, seated us down to wait 15 minutes all for printing 2 papers and scanning 1 passport (we arrived at 4pm the room should’ve been ready way before that…) good thing I just asked for the papers signed myself in and took myself alone to the room, would not waste time to bother a staff for waiting 15 minutes again to take me to the room. We did asked for late checkout and speedboat timing which the night lady was very nice and helped us but again a smile would’ve been nice. Room service (to eat) is not available and don’t even try to ask, they will hang up the phone before you are done talking. Overall a very bad experience, I do suggest a nice Saba training for the whole staff would not hurt and as a 4 star hotel in room dining should be an option otherwise call it 3 star
