The few good reviews and pictures of new bathrooms are deceiving. The rooms are tiny, smelly and, very dirty. The one nice bathroom was freezing because you couldn't close the window and it is winter. I felt very unsafe at this hostel, lots of people doing hard drugs and no secure storage. Someone would have to pay me to stay... More

Cold and a lot of draft. Not really very nice to stay in but will do for a quick sleep and leave. Good location with the team and pubs. Pillows are hard and beds are not great no ladder to get yo top bunk so if you short it can be hard. Would not stay here again

This hostel is full of friendly staff and is one of the more comfortable hostels in Australia. The 6 bed female dorms with ensuits are what we stayed in and they are very spacious and cleaned every day. The hotel also proved free wifi during the day, a kitchen, a TV room and a travel desk. The travel desk was... More

Stayed here for a few nights. It is nothing like it says it will be. I understand that it's winter now and quiet but I was hard to figure out who worked here. Once you did find anyone who worked there talking to them about anything was like drawing blood from a stone. Very unhelpful. Aside from that the place... More

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! First of all, you're absolutely correct. It does get a little quiet here in Melbourne's winter. As a result we have fewer staff around. The staff that are here have been here for a while and usually get great feedback. We'll try and get to the bottom of why you were... More

The hostel is in a great location, Just off Fitzroy St where the tram stops and also lots of local bars and eateries. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away so it's a very good location. The hostel itself is very basic with comfortable but very very creeky loud beds, it's a sociable hostel as everyone is very... More

My friend and I stayed here last March after having no where else to stay. We booked 5 or so days and the only room left was a 10 bed dorm. Wasn't too bad, except a bunch of drunk loud girls turned the lights on at 2am when we were all sleeping!! The kitchen was okay big enough for us... More

I stayed here for two nights recently. They appear to be renovating still as parts of the hostel are tarped off at the bottom of stairs and some of the washrooms are still out dated. Make sure to find the new bathrooms as they are stunning, but be sure to watch your step as there will be water EVERYwhere due... More

Hi there and Thanks for your review! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks for pointing that out about our new bathroom, we are currently in the process of designing a water release so that pesky water will run straight back out again after showers finish. This was my third hostel in Australia, my second in Melbourne and I really like it here! I've been elsewhere after this place and decided to come back after and few weeks away. It's quite big, but there's a chill roof top where most people hang out, so it's very easy to meet people here! There's also a pub crawl... More

Hostel is cheap, cheerful, pretty close to St Kilda and not too far from the city via tram. I stayed in a 16 bed dorm which was the cheapest option, the room was roomy, airy and well put together, kitchen facilities were pretty spot on. All in all a good nights stay. I would recommend, although pre-booking is advisable when... More

Located close to the beach, and a supermarket. This sociable hostel was lively and catered for a large number of guests. The roof top area was a nice touch, and encouraged social interaction. The wi-fi is free to an extent, it cuts off after a specific period and thereafter requires payment.
