The house is of old Victorian architecture, and is stunning in the middle of the city. It's a bit of an oasis. Despite being in the centre of Geelong, the traffic didn't pose too much noise at all! The owner Paul was really accommodating! The beds were very comfortable and all in all it was relaxing! A much needed getaway... More

Stayed at Gatehouse on Ryrie for 2 nights in a gorgeous and spacious upstairs room. We had the balcony overlooking a busy intersection and large period bathroom to ourselves. Our host was very obliging and allowed us to change rooms because I preferred the view, however I would have been content in any of the upstairs bedroom. Park the car... More

Stayed for three nights in a small room, on ground floor away from the road traffic. Regardless, there is still quite a lot of noise from the street (including very late and very early, especially on the Fri/Sat/Sun that I stayed). There is a pretty large lounge and breakfast room, very basic, help yourself. Shared bathrooms were okay, one upstairs... More

We recently stayed here before starting a trio along the great ocean road. The property is 1880s gorgeousness. Has a restored stable yard to boot! Rooms are quaint and lovingly furnished with vintage furniture. Prices are extremely reasonable, facilities are handy. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby.

This guesthouse is just beautiful, the rooms are clean and bathrooms immaculate. The location is perfect and allows you to walk around Geelong without using the car. The accommodation is well priced and pleasant, be sure to check the external beauty of this building!!

We just wanted one night in Geelong so we were looking for a reasonable cheap but safe place. The gatehouse was good because it was right in town and included a simple breakfast. The owner was helpful but as always if something is cheap there is always a reason and the biggest problem with this accommodation is that you have... More

I was happy to book this Victorian guesthouse in Geelong. We stopped here after driving the Great Ocean Road on our way to Ballarat for one night. There was free parking, a must in city areas when traveling by car. It is located within easy walking distance to the riverfront toward Eastern Beach Road where there are plenty of places... More

We had never stayed in a guest house before and were pleasantly surprised by this beautiful old property. The host was great and very informative about the local area. Room was big, not air conditioned but didn't need it in October. Share Bathroom was always very clean. Breakfast was continental and adequate. Great little property in the heart of the... More

This gate house is an old doctor's place located in Geelong. The room was big enough for 4 people and both the room and the shared bathroom were very clean. Paul, the owner, has send me a mail to know my time of arrival and made everything he could to welcome me in very good conditions. The location of the... More
