Wanting to see the Marilyn Monroe exhibition, I decided to take a 4-day mini break in Bendigo. I chose this motel because of its reasonable rates and closeness to the centre of town, but hadn't realised how close it is to the Bendigo Creek cycling path, which was a real bonus. This track takes you a few kilometers north or... More

Had a Thursday night at Motel. Upgraded to a double deluxe for an extra $10. Well worth it. Room large, spacious with a queen and a single. Water pressure in shower great. Room located at rear of property. Relieving Receptionist welcoming and personable. Location great as 1 block back from main highway and that street runs all the way into... More

Not ultra modern but spotlessly clean and refurbished inside. Was given an upgrade to deluxe room which for a motel was spacious and had gorgeous vaulted ceiling.Room was very well appointed and contained all the extras to enhance your stay.

We wanted affordable family accomodation for an overnight stay in Bendigo. The Welcome Stranger ticked all the boxes. The check in process was smooth and friendly. Kids quickly made use of the pool. The room decor was a little dated but everything was clean. The bathroom contained a larger than normal fridge with cold glasses which was appreciated given it... More

The only welcome you will have is really one on the front sign. I parked the car in a random bay for checking in and the owner came to me completely pissed off, and kept on looking annoyed the only other time I needed information (and at that time there was nobody). Furthermore, the room stank and the informational brochure... More

Checked into this motel late on a Saturday afternoon on advice from friends. Very reasonably priced considering Christmas was one week away. Greeted by extremely friendly owners, who were happy to cater to our needs. Room was exactly what we were after, and the staff were nice enough to have already turned on the aircon prior to our arrival (42+... More

We booked a family room and it was spacious enough - the high ceilings give it a roomier feel. This motel is a bit dated but it's clean and the kids got good use out of the pool. Located a bit back off the main road, we certainly didn't hear any traffic at all and the beds were quite comfy.... More

We got onto the 'Welcome Stranger' motel, via the Information Centre in Bendigo. We're glad we did. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious (we got Rm.6), and the Manager is very helpful and courteous. Just a little way off the main road, for relative quietness, and still close to town. Clean rooms, and well cared for grounds. Good stay.

Great room with separate lounge room, and small kitchenette, which would be ideal on a longer stay, and/or with family. Very friendly staff, happy to help with advice and general chat. Although not right in the centre of town, easy and close drive, and nice and quiet. Easy walking distance from local pub for a feed. Very happy to recommend.

Such a surprise when you open the door & see the room. It was clean & modern. The continental breakfast that was provided was perfect for an early morning departure. Only downside is that there is no keybox if you do leave early. Office wasnt open so had to go back to room to leave the key.
