Stayed for 1 night. Hotel was grand and beautiful. Very reminiscent of the Windsor without the snobbery. Pleasant room. Great location. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Car parking was inconvienient being in a public car park which you couldn't get out of on Sunday without the Receptionist. However would definitely stay there again.

We were only in town for two nights and the Shamrock was central to where we were working. It's a bit old and tired but served it's purpose. If you want something more comfortable, try somewhere else....sorry Shamrock... My room was on the main road and so I heard all the traffic....all the traffic. The breakfast buffet was average.

We decided to stay in a Bendigo icon, with some friends saying it was great and others saying it was not a good idea, but although parts of the building are a bit tired, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The wifi however was no good at all!

The standard room was acceptable; clean and tidy but pretty basic. The bed was too soft for my liking, but otherwise the furnishings pretty much 'did the job'. The bathroom, similarly, was OK but would benefit from renovation. Our first experience in the bar/restaurant was a positive one, with great, friendly service, but it was a bit hit-and-miss on subsequent... More

My daughter and I recently spent three nights at the Shamrock while visiting my aunt. I booked there because I got a "Stay 3/Pay2" deal which included breakfast, it was in a central location and we both love good old fashioned style. We were not disappointed. Location: right in town opposite old Post Office (the clock stops striking at night).... More

-Total lack of communication from the beginning ......... we (2 older ladies) were not told about the access from the multi level carpark and hence had to walk around the block dragging suitcases etc. -We booked a superior room requesting a balcony and were given a claustrophobic room with blanked out windows overlooking dirty pipes and airconditioning ducts and it... This beautiful building, reeking with history needs a lot of TLC. We had a standard room, number 213 and although appointed well, the blocked out window with a decal did not unfortunately hide the filthy exterior outside our window. Looks onto plumbing, the backside of an air conditioning unit with resultant back-draft and rubbish. Unfortunately we felt entombed. The included... More

It was just great staying in this historical hotel. Rooms were large, beds comfortable and warm, continental breakfast was ample. Food in the restaurant was fine and all service throughout the hotel was excellent. Very pleasant staff. Definitely will stay there again.

Went to the Marilyn Monroe exhibition in Bendigo today and although we'd had a bit of a disappointing night at the Shamrock Hotel after we'd seen the Grace Kelly exhibition a few years ago thought we'd give it another try since I'd had a lovely dining experience there upstairs on the balcony on a previous occasion some years ago. It... More

The restaurant looked inviting and the menu suitable but unfortunately the food was below par. First I ordered the special Lamb Shanks but they were sold out so should have been taken off the board. My Greek Lamb salad was fine but not what I required on a cold Sunday. The Gnocchi was creamy and rich but the Parmigiana was... More
