A very fun experience to stay in the "Whipstick Suite" in the Hotel Shamrock. The rooms are small but comfortable. The baths are updated but also small. The hotel is so ornate with stained glass, a double staircase and vintage chandeliers. Even a (non-working) vintage heater in the room. There is an elevator. Continental breakfast in the lounge bar area.... More

I've now stayed at the Hotel Shamrock twice during regional trips for work. Both times I've been greeted with friendly and helpful staff. The eating outlets have been terrific, Yard bird definitely a must if staying Wednesday onwards. The best part of the stay is that it is a quiet place when you put your head down to sleep. I'm... Stayed 2 nights in lovely spacious well appointed room on third floor with great views of the City. When I realised that there was a problem with the heating, it was dealt with extremely quickly, efficiently and courteously. All the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful.

The rooms are refurbished and lovely. There are a number of eating /drinking options which cater for a wide variety of tastes/needs. The parking is a little difficult to access but more than adequate. a car is not really necessary in Bendigo as there is an excellent tram system which combined with the buses and trains fit all transport needs.

As a super regular stayer in hotels you never remember the faceless corporate rooms in faceless hotels but this place full of charm and character. Hotel rooms clean and modern despite the exterior facade would definetly stay again only downside lack of parking.

Had always wanted to stay at the iconic Bendigo Shamrock hotel. Grand architecture. Interior has been modernised in classic style but is showing signs of age. The upper stories appear to being renovated so hopefully ongoing. Little things in rooms, showers, etc not quite 5 star. Needed to feed a meter for parking but it is the centre of Bendigo.... More

I stayed at the Shamrock for two nights on a business trip to Victoria and thoroughly enjoyed its old world charm. It has a fascinating history and this is nicely built into the hotel's decor with pamphlets, signage and so on letting you know some of the building's interesting contributions to Australian history. I was also delighted to find that... More

A good stay but the rooms we had 204 and 205 were cramped with just enough room for a bed. There were no chairs or tables and I had to borrow one from down the passage way. I really expect a room in a hotel these days the have a table and chair at least for reading and or writing.... More

Stayed for 1 night. Hotel was grand and beautiful. Very reminiscent of the Windsor without the snobbery. Pleasant room. Great location. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Car parking was inconvienient being in a public car park which you couldn't get out of on Sunday without the Receptionist. However would definitely stay there again.

We were only in town for two nights and the Shamrock was central to where we were working. It's a bit old and tired but served it's purpose. If you want something more comfortable, try somewhere else....sorry Shamrock... My room was on the main road and so I heard all the traffic....all the traffic. The breakfast buffet was average.
