The Hotel Shamrock undoubtedly has loads of character. Each room has its own name. The room size is pretty good (bathroom is massive) and even though the rooms are old and tiring, they are clean enough and it was a comfortable one night stay. Pack...More
everything was great, room service prompt, nice, clean rooms, friendly staff but internet annoying - have to get cards for each device that time out and then get more crazy. Food good in main restaurant - complimentary continental breakfast.
We've stayed at historic Hotel Shamrock several times in the past few years when visiting family. The included breakfast outstrips many more expensive hotels for its variety and quality, the fresh fruit platter is excellent. The staff are cheerful and helpful.

Shamrock doesn't have a car park but you can unload luggage at front door in a 15 minute parking space and then park in the Council car park which is a very short block away and quite convenient. I'm sorry that I can't remember the cost but it was very reasonable and we parked from Friday midday till Sunday 11am. If you had young family or elderly guests you could unload everyone and luggage at front door and they could wait in the very comfortable lounge area. There are a few steps up into the hotel itself and from memory, no ramps.
