Had a very comfortable night in one of the maisonette rooms situated at the back of the wine bank. Old bank staff quarters and very comfy. Nice new queen beds ensuite is compact but not a issue. Staff very welcoming at wine bank. Also a great spot for drink and eating. Very central to Bendigo great price. Will be back

We have just stayed for two nights at Allawah in room 4. It was beautiful, had loads of space and is right in the heart of town. As we have stayed here before we knew we had to check in over the road at the wine bank. Staff are always just a call away to help in need be. We... More

The maisonettes are the entry level (yeah I understand that) either upgrade or go elsewhere (lots to choose from) the rooms are tiny and the bathroom so small you can go to the loo and do you teeth at the vanity at the same time. New mattresses I have been told though I found it way to firm (just because... More

Chris, after reading your review I'm wondering if there is not some other unrelated underlying issue with your stay. We have had nothing but compliments about our new beds, I've actualy upgraded my own bed with the same and I'm very happy with it. Our bathrooms are small but the size has no negative affect on the functionality. The rooms... More

Visited Bendigo to see Marilyn Monroe exhibition, which was excellent. Booked into this gorgeous boutique accommodation in View St. Just marvellous, elegantly decorated, scrumptious towels. A cute little kitchenette which was an added bonus. Outside a lovely courtyard lit up with fairy lights at night. Parking at the back. So convenient to explore Bendigo on foot. Definitely recommend

We stayed in one of the Allawah apartments on View Street for a week. It was a great base to get to know Bendigo on foot - a fabulous central location. The apartment itself, located in a lovely old building, was beautifully appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable, self catering stay. The booking process was faultless, and the... More

Had the honeymoon suite, 4 poster bed, spa and heaps of room. Very romantic. Great restaurant and bar downstairs, Rocks on Rosalind, worth the visit just for the restaurant. Great position to see the sites of Bendigo.

Thanks for reviewing Allawah Fountain View Suites John. We are very proud of our suites and none more than the honeymoon Suite overlooking the fountain in the Centre of Bendigo, we have been told on many occasions that it is the best room in Bendigo and we agree. Good dining choice with our friends at Rocks, they do a great... More

The hotel is above a wine bar/restaurant that is small but extremely busy. When you eat there you understand why that is. The service is fantastic and the food even better. It is an old converted bank and the hotel rooms are out the back with a safety combination locked entrance so you know you are secure. The room I... More

Room was beautifully appointed, staff at Wine Bank very accommodating. We visited Bendigo to attend the Marilyn Monroe exhibition and could not have enjoyed our stay more. The Fountain view Suites were ideally located in the arts precinct and the food and hospitality at Rocks on Rosalind and the Wine Bank were spectacular.

We booked a Maisonette for location - we were going to the Marilyn Monroe exhibition and it was perfect for that. We had to check in at the Wine Bank (historic and fascinating) but negotiating the stairs up from the Wine Bank restaurant to the room level was quite dangerous for someone with mobility issues. Maisonette one was near the... More

Thanks for reviewing Allawah. It is disappointing to read that the Maisonettes were unsuitable for you, we have 50 beds in central Bendigo and these are our entry level which is reflected in there very competitive pricing. Since your stay all of the rooms have been upgraded to Queen size beds. The rooms are small but well laid out and... More

What an experience. We had been on the road for around 12 days and Bendigo was the last leg of our road trip from Port Macquarie. We did not book on line as this time we just drove into town. We looked at a Motel in View street and did not like it and the Receptionist recommended Allawah Bendigo. There... More
