We stayed at Craig's Royal Hotel for a night to see the Archibald in Ballarat. We booked a dinner package which included valet parking and continental breakfast. We believed we got great value for the money we paid. The Hotel is situated in the centre of town and is very handy to to all the city's attractions. The room we... More

My friend and I had the $45 lunch special and there was nothing special about it for me. The gnocchi was oily and tasteless, the creme brûlée was not sensational and nearly sent me to the dentist. Beautiful venue.

We stayed here for one night in a Suite, with the dinner bed and breakfast package, to visit the Archibald Exhibition. The room was absolutely delightful, comfortable bed with beautiful linen. Well done However......... The meal was average. I chose the whiting, which came to the table with a mountain of rocket alongside the fish. Not much expertise with this... More

A visit for the Archibald so enjoyed lunch at this restaurant. moderately busy mid week. plenty of variety including a 2 course lunch special. We enjoyed the fish and pork. Well presented with plenty of flavor. Staff were well trained. Good drinks list including beer on tap.

The staff at Craig's were very, very helpful and attentive. The wedding was well prepared, the food was fabulous and the staff were friendly and efficient. We stayed 2 nights as well and the historical hotel surrounds were lovely. Modernised but retaining the charm and character of the past. The lift was a very well working relic which we enjoyed... Rooms very really nice, well fitted out, clean and quiet. Dinner was very disappointing considering the chefs named on the Menu. They cooked the wrong main courses for three of us so we had to wait wait 20 minutes while the cooked the right meal. Not good when it came. Staff were very apologetic .

Loved a stay here in Ballarat just before the AFL grand final. Weather still chilly & Craigs was wonderful. The room was cosy with very comfortable beds. Tasteful decor & a very clean bathroom with l'occitaine toiletries..bliss. Wifi, heating and a table to write at. Breakfast included & taken downstairs- although room service was an option. The bar was great... More

A grand old hotel very well restored. Not cheap but worth a look back in time. The restaurant is excellent with attentive staff and high standard menu. The main bar is a classic and worth having a drink in even if not staying there. My only negative was a poker machine room. They even do valet parking at no extra cost.

We enjoyed afternoon tea here on a cold and wet afternoon in Ballarat. Craig's Royal Hotel is steeped in history....so the atmosphere was lovely, as was the food. Notable though for us was the young man in the coffee shop. I think his name was Marcus. He was alone and very busy. At no time time did he complain or... More
