My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. The atrium room was a bit dated but spacious and light and the location is excellent. The staff we met were very friendly and helpful, especially the room service person on Sunday. There are a few minor issues that need attention: - parking is hard to find - a light over the... More

Was in Ballarat for an arts event. Perfect central location. Really comfy beds, dark room, friendly and helpful staff. Didn't have time for breakfast, but looked really nice. Wifi and happy for guests to hang around after check out. Highly recommended.

Welcoming affable hosts, quiet, comfortable room with all mod cons, centrally located, good security, charming ambiance and reasonably priced. I'll be back! Excellent place! Shall recommend to others!

Never judge a book by its cover. Or a brochure by its pictures. We stayed for two nights in a basic room which was called the "executive suite". The shower was in a fixed position towards the wall ensuring water wasn't splashed on to the floor and the overhead fan/heater had a timer of three minutes, according to the directions... More

This imposing Victorian (age and location) building offers a comfortable sleep, plenty of room to spread and a superb breakfast made to order . All staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful, treating all guests as individuals . The room had a large imposing double bed, large bathroom, and sofa bed. I had bulky travel suitcases and was moved to a... More

The Ansonia is located a short walk from Sturt Street and the centre of Ballarat. Originally the premises I understand were stables. Rooms are located on either side of a glass covered alleyway. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings. The appointments in the room are basic but adequate. Unfortunately there is no external air intake into the rooms. Our... More

This hotel is an excellent, centrally located spot, right in the heart of the historic Ballarat downtown. Rooms are comfortable and have plenty of space. Staff are friendly & it's ideal for the business or personal traveler. Heaps of great restaurants around with plenty of shopping too. Only a few minutes drive to all the tourist attractions too (Eurake, Souvreign... More

We enjoyed the welcome telling us that it was a former stables. Our room was down a long hall that you could image as stables. Next door is the oldest hotel in town. The room was comfortable and hot water in long deep tub was very relaxing. Easy walk to nearby restaurants. Breakfast here good.

Room was v clean and comfortable although room was pretty small. Generally quiet room though could hear people in room next door so... More

Very nice place to stay, central to the shops and a nice place to get away for a couple nights. The staff were very nice. The room was very good with a comfortable bed and very nice bathroom. It is across the road from Her Majesty's Theatre, and walking distance to Central Square Shopping Centre.
