Heading up for the annual Victorian Masters Baseball weekend, I was without accommodation as the usual accommodation would not allow me to book one night. I searched for something cheap that would give me a one night stay. Eureka Lodge fit the bill and on arrival I was not

Dad stayed at the Eureka Lodge over 30 years ago with Mum as part of a trip to Ballarat. He said it was a reasonably priced and a pleasant place to stay then: after learning earlier in 2018 that the place is still open, he opted to book a room for our next trip to Ballarat. I

Like they say 2pm is the earliest you can take possession but to find nobody in attendance at 1pm was a big surprise so we came back at 2pm to find the place without a receptionist or an open reception area. The operators did finally arrive and we found our room of good size but

Pleasant motel in a location that's close to town. Clean and comfortable. Good value for money. The owners were very welcoming and accomodating, providing Visitor information when required. We were happy to get a late check out so we didn't have to rush. Nice garden to enjoy the

Yes, the Hotel Management are correct. If you book through a booking search engine, read the conditions and it will advise you that you will be penalised if you cancel or update your checkin times. I have the same problem this week with a Hotel and for me to update my details on checking in/out means I have to pay an extra $48.30 BUT sometimes it is better to go direct to the actual Hotel and do a deal with them. Having phoned the Hotel, they did say the booking was out of their control as I would have to be in touch with the search engine to do the alteration. Unless you read the conditions (like us all we usually don't) we will keep our original dates this time to save all of the fuss and bother. Hey, things change in our lives and like you, that is unfortunate but some charge and some don't. Just shop around for the best deal and conditions. All the best for next time. Regards Helen W-H
