Enjoyed our 4-night stay at this hotel – it has friendly and helpful staff, a decent breakfast buffet, a spacious and comfortable room with a clean and modern toilet and shower. The free wi-fi, though, was a tad slow and required repeated logins – but that was just a minor inconvenience in an otherwise great hotel.

The hotel is a bit old in its 80's setting. it appears that the hotel need major refurbishment work to bring it up to the quality of its counterpart in Hobart. Upon arrival, there is nobody at the lobby helping us with our luggage. We had to do everything ourselves, self service. Same thing on our way back. The car...

We stayed in a Superior Refurbished King room on the third floor and our expectations were high after a first class stay at the Grand Chancellor Hobart in the same grade of room a couple of years ago. We had booked the room on a great deal that included the buffet breakfast and car parking. The room was as expected...

I was upgraded to a newly renovated room, so cant speak for the other rooms. The renovated room was spacious, modern, clean and well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has on site parking and is within walking distance of the city, restuarants and cafes.

The Grand Chancellor is well located for those wanting to be in the centre of Launceston and easy walking distance to the Seaport too. The rooms have been recently refurbished and have two queen size beds which is so much better than two single beds if you require a twin room. We had a lovely meal of Tasmanian Atlantic salmon...

Unfriendly front desk service, stayed in worse towns with better and more dated service and rooms. Thought hotel GRAND chancellor would be a treat on our last night in Tasmania - however it was terrible and would never stay there again.

I stayed here for five nights during a conference. My room was large and comfortable with a large bed, a sofa, and a separate dressing/suitcase area. I enjoyed having a view of the street. The hotel interior was ageing a bit, but it was clean and gave what could have been a bland hotel some character. The hotel is very...

Lovely older style but modernised hotel in the heart of Launceston. Large clean room, comfy bed, fab breakfast and great for onsite conference. Friendly staff. The only drawbacks are the wifi which wasn't the best, and the lack of power points in the bedroom. Would stay again.

Overall our experience was very good. The only issues we had was very poor lighting in the room at night and a very noisy cooling system that made it difficult to sleep with it on, so without it the room got hot during the night. The staff were wonderfully helpful, the breakfast smorgasbord was delicious and the venue was within...
