We paid for an upgrade to a spa room but was disappointed to discover it was in the front of the building which is adjacent to a busy city road. Traffic noise tended to be annoying until 10.00pm and noticeable again from about 6.00am the next morning. Disappointed with the slow WiFi speed during our visit.

Kilmarnock House is a beautiful old residence in a nice part of Launceston. We were passing through and only stayed one night, but would have stayed longer if we could. The room we stayed in was just gorgeous and very well equipped. The bathroom was tiny, but that didn't detract from the room. Onsite parking is provided, and the ingenious...

Kilmarnock House presents as a quaint historical residence which appears charming to the overnight short term guest but as we discovered in a week long stay that it is very much lacking in service of the quality expected for the price. Minimal care or interest is shown. Towels are changed upon request but very little else. To expect more substantial...

I could get past that my room had no balcony even though it was advertised to of had one, and that the bathroom reminded me of what you would expect in a motor home/ caravan, or the hospital bed sheets. It was when I misplaced my key and after looking everywhere I polietly asked the man doing the ironing (who...

We stayed here a year ago and were charmed. At that point the new owners had just taken over. We chose to stay again because of the comfort, charm and convenience. Regrettably, things have declined since our previous visit. Breakfast supplies and daily room servicing are no longer offered. Cobwebs abound and curtains are torn. The service is still very...

I stayed for only one night but could have stayed longer. I had the Honeymoon Suite which was absolutely beautiful. A large period room with a very comfortable bed, a fab spa and was very quiet. All the linen was near new and fresh and clean. The building is a stunner Edwardian with loads of charm. The owners were very...

Certainly a grand building but needs greater attention to cleanliness. We stayed in room 10; a family room at the back of the house. The carpet was badly stained in the dining room/ lounge room. Dishes were still in the dishwasher and some had been put away dirty in the cupboard. The stove top had burnt food around the hot...

We stayed for two nights. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was large with nice furniture in keeping with the Edwardian building. On close look some appointments are a bit dated especially the bathroom but despite that it was clean and tidy. The room was quiet and warm and there was secure off street parking.

Decided a few days before the weekend to have a quick trip away and take the kids to play in the snow. So was a little doubtful when all of my first choices where fully booked. My first choices are always new shinny and modern so going into something old dated and a little scary looking quite frankly wasn't to...

Needed to stay overnight in Launceston for a sporting carnival. Had late check in and were leaving early. Good accommodation close to venue and roomy for a family. Clean and tidy, kitchenette well appointed and even fresh milk in a jug in the fridge not long life milk. Youngest child liked it, said it was like visiting Nan's house.
