I had a five night stay at Mt Isa City Motel for work. It was extremely good. The rooms are small but very comfortable. The bed was great, the room has a kitchenette with a decent size fridge. Foxtel channels and wi-fi are part of the room rate. The laundry is free with washing powder supplied. Jenny, the manager, is friendly and efficient. The location is perfect with a Woollies over the road. It is a great location and I highly recommend the Mt Isa City Motel.
Great location close to shops. Room was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable and had Sheridan sheets. Very well appointed kitchen with full sized fridge/freezer. The manager Jenny could not have been more helpful and courteous. I would highly recommend a stay at Mt Isa City Motel
The motel is in a very handy position, close to everything. It IS basically a worker's set up, however we were lucky to get a "disabled room", which had a very large bathroom and great shower. The room was spotless and had almost everything we needed. No tea towel? Never mind, the manager, Jenny, couldn't have been more helpful. When we arrived she had the air con and fan on and it was LOVELY!! There were two bottles of water in the fridge as well. On the only day in recent times, it rained overnight and my washing got wet again. While we were out, Jenny took everything off the line and put it through the spin cycle again for us! Where would anyone else do that?
This hotel has a new and older section. The rooms are spacious some have windows which can be opened if you choose not to use air con. No fans, a short walk to shops. It is quiete, has a lift if you choose not to use the stairs. Plenty of free parking with cafe and bar downstairs.
Mount Isa City Motel looks to have been set up for workers. It's not a traditional motel but has individual ensuite rooms in blocks. Don't let this put you off, I stayed in a single room (travelling solo) with bed, desk & chair, wardrobe & drawers, decent fridge, kitchenette with small stovetop (!!!) and microwave, and cooking and eating utensils. The room was clean and tidy and the whole complex looks quite new. Paid $99 through this website and I could not fault the place. Would strongly recommend!
