Headed to Miriam Vale, stopped at the hotel... No meals go to the take away and bring it back no worries.... Left, headed south found this little luxury stop - excellent service, the meals fantastic, the wine was cold as well. Recommend to all, a little but luxury place.

Stayed for 4 nights, while transporting our new boxer pup Malibu to Cairns. Malibu slipped his collar the 1st night and took refuge in the nearby creek but with the awesome help and support from Peter, Denise and staff Malibu was retrieved safe and sound. Nothing was too much trouble for Peter and Denise. Thanks again, if not for your help and support I would still be trying to catch the little bugger.

Looking for somewhere to stop for the night between Mackay and Brisbane we were lucky to have found the Colosseum Creek motel. Being pet friendly was our main need and we were pleasantly suprised at what else we got for our money. Peter & Denise (proprietors) are lovely and were very friendly and accomodating. The rooms are basic, clean & comfortable, just what is needed after a long drive. The real highlight of our stay was Denise's cooking. We had dinner and breakfast on site, REAL flavourful home cooking ! The vegetable patties were a real highlight, so fresh and tasty. Also Gluten free. Denise caters for dietry needs so don't be afraid to ask. Bar facilities are available also and it was lovely to have a meal & beer on the deck. Breakfast was two poached eggs and espresso coffee, perfect fuel for the days drive. I also took one of the famous silverside sandwhiches as a roadie, top notch ! There is also fuel & a store on site offering essentials items, snacks & drinks to top you up for the road ahead. The venue is right on the highway which means you won't add time to your trip heading off the highway to find accomodation. Highly recommended this venue for a stay over or even a quick stop over for a cuppa and bite to eat before continuing on your journey.

We booked ahead for a pet friendly room on our trip south. We arrived late and were welcomed by Denice, were shown where everything was and what was available from the kitchen. We didn’t sample the food, though there is a substantial menu to choose from. There’s a shop which has a selection of the essentials, which are often forgotten on road trips, as well as the usual service station selection. The room we had was cosy and the noise from the highway was barely audible, once the door was closed. It’s an older establishment, though everything works and is well equipped. We had a great sleep, in a convenient travel location. We were so grateful to have such a lovely and helpful host for our short stay.

We just stopped on the off chance and were offered a nice little un-powered site for $15. Had the use of a little shower and toilet which was clean and tidy. Decided to have a meal and had the daily special, roast lamb, which was yummy and only $15. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming and the drinks and meals are good and cheap. This place was a real find, exceptional value. It is close to the main road so there is a bit of road noise which is to be expected.
