I stayed one night on my trip to Queensland and the hotel met all my requirements. It is close to shops and the water where it is possible to have a pleasant walk after a long drive and watch the dolphins. Rooms are comfortable with good hot showers. Book Face bookshop and cafe in the side street is a good spot for browsing over a coffee. I had dinner in the hotel which was very tasty with a glass of good wine. Breakfast is in the same restaurant. The only drawback is that the restaurant is very cold and I found it necessary to wear my puffer jacket throughout both meals.

There are features of this hotel we have enjoyed in the past and also enjoyed during this visit. The spacious room, mugs rather than thimble sized tea cups, real milk in place of tiny tubs of long life milk, and a well lit room. We returned 2 weeks later to find we had been allocated a much smaller room, than on any previous visit. The mugs were smaller and one contained a green powdery residue. We were disappointed to discover the restaurant menu hadn’t changed to the Winter menu, which we had particularly enjoyed during a visit last year.

I have stayed here before usually just an overnight stop on the way to or from Sydney. The hotel is very conveniently placed right in the centre of town. Rooms a e comfortable and clean. This time we had a room facing the main street which was great and for some reason made for a better room design. Service always friendly and efficient. Secure parking available and the restaurant is excellent.

Not very often I get surprised by accommodation these days. This one had everything I needed. We were only staying overnight in transit to Canberra from Brisbane but it was perfect for a clean, warm (it was heading into winter) and spacey room. The front desk staff were great with everything. There was a minor toilet block in the hotel but this was overshadowed by the fact that the management and maintenance team had it sorted in no time. Well done. I'd highly recommend this hotel.
