We were 4 couples meeting up for a reunion weekend. The 4 rooms we were given all adjoined each other and the end one had a wrap around verandah where we met in the late afternoon for drinks. Service was very good, and the rooms fine. Good bed. Another plus is the Italian Restaurant on site. We had dinner there,... More

This is my 2nd stay in 18 months at Hermitage Lodge and it has maintained its exceptional service. Our suite was small with a separate lounge area but the wrap around porch gave it a sense of spaciousness. Very clean and well appointed kitchenette and bathroom. Dinner in our room last night was cooked from the lodge's restaurant and it... More

The setting is lovely. The Lodge advertises as a 4 star. When I stay in a 4 star hotel I expect the room to be well made up every day. The floor in our room was not vacuumed over our three day stay. I had problems with the washing machine and the owner could not have cared less (but in... More

Thank you Betty, for taking the time to write your review. With regards to servicing the room: the girls service each room daily; they make the bed, wash dishes, replenish the mini bar and breakfast items, replace towel if requested and remove garbage. You are correct, they do not vacuum - unless they feel it is required. I am the... More

We had the most amazing first night of our honeymoon road trip in this beautiful lodge! Our suite was gorgeous, enormous and the host couldn't be more accommodating when showing us around. The fridge was stocked with a v tasty homemade breakfast of muffins and freshly prepared muesli, even had a cafetière and ground coffee! We were in heaven and... More

Everything just perfect ... Very nice setting, peaceful and just what you need for "getting away from it all". Very nice change from the hustle and bustle of the more "branded" places we've stayed. Will definitely be going back next chance we get.

We had booked a balloon trip that was cancelled last minute and the Hermitage Lodge allowed us to change our booking at the last minute with no hassles. When we arrived the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable for a super fussy man who likes his comforts. The view over the... More

There is a possibility that the suites (opposite) are very nice but as for the room we stayed in, it was a disappointment. It was clean with high ceilings but that's as far as the good points go. The fittings and furniture seemed old and run down. For a quick, overnight stay, visiting the cellar doors and coming back to... More

We had 2 stays at the Hermitage Lodge, one night in a Lodge Queen Room (Tyrrell Room) and the second stay in the Pepper Tree Studio. The lodge room was clean and comfortable and is great for a short stay. The Pepper Tree Studio is a luxury suite with a 2 person spa, made for ultimate relaxation. We wish we... More

What really strikes me is the superb design of the rooms; tasteful, spacious & very functional. Also in our climate changing world, the energy efficient ceiling fan is a welcome adjunct to the split system unit.( Why the tourism industry doesn't promote energy conscious places such as Hermitage Lodge is disappointing). The star ratings system in all states should include... More

My wife and I stayed there recently for a wedding nearby and it was very nice and very quiet, perfect for a couple! Continental breakfast provided was excellent. Nice room, nice and clean, great views of the vineyard, overall great experience and would go back for sure. Friendly staff! Cheers
