Only stay here if you love that old world charm of yesteryear - lovely staircase and sitting rooms. Pleasant room - we stayed in room 3 - nice and warm when we arrived, great views over golf course with bay windows. Continental breakfast included but can pre order full breakfast. Very pleasant stay.

The mixed reviews here are a give-away that Duntryleague is not everyone's cup of tea - if you want slick, efficient and spotless then stay somewhere else in the lovely town of Orange. For many, however, many a stay here will be a memorable experience for all the good reasons. Wonderful old-world charm, some grand rooms, amazingly high ceilings, a... More

A business overnight stay. A room without window, so it was claustrophobic, but I should have checked before I booked it. The hot water pressure was not good enough, so it was hard to adjust for a warm shower! And the room heater was struggling to get any warmer than cool!! Maybe it is suitable for someone who is used... More

I had to stay for business overnight. I arrived in the afternoon to find out my room did not have a desk as request by my travel agent during the booking. I have been moved into a room with a " table"... I have had the most cold night in my entire life!! The air conditioning/ heater hardly produced heat...... More

A cosy winter weekend away but ALL seasons are fabulous. Orange is located about 3hrs from Sydney. You travel along the M4 (access from Parramatta Road) Strathfield) and head to Katoomba. From Katoomba you continue west to Orange (from Katoomba it is about 2hrs). The drive to Orange is truly beautiful showcasing some of Australia's best countryside. Orange is a... More

Duntryleague is downright gorgeous. The mansion is charming without trying too hard. There are lots of stairs, which might be a challenge for some guests, but only adds to the oldschool appeal and a real sense of adventure. We stayed in Room 1, one of the Irish suites and were really pleased with the size and set up of the... More

We are a married couple with a young baby daughter. We stayed in the Margaret Dalton Lodge for the long weekend. We had some extended family visit while we were there. A very charming old guesthouse with great access to the golf course. Lots of parking space off the street for us and visiting family. The lodge is incredibly spacious.... More

We occupied the Margaret Dalton Lodge and Rowan House across our three families, five adults, two children and 5mth old baby. We had a brilliant stay! Rowan House: well set out and great for families. All the mod cons, two bathrooms (3bdrms) and great yard to keep the children occupied. The beds are fantastic, great linen and pillows. Everything you... More

Even though it rained non stop, we enjoyed visiting Orange and Duntryleague. Roaring fire was lovely furniture upgrade would be nice but still lovely in winter. They now use the golf club dining room and the club bar, but we enjoyed it, great fire warm, good value drinks and very good food and most of all really friendly helpful staff.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The historic Duntryleague guesthouse is situated in the botanical gardens setting of the Duntryleague's prestigious 18 hole championship golf course. Built in 1876 for local businessman James Dalton, the building now offers 14 accommodation rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. Accommodation in this 19th century mansion is in four categories, from original master suites (Mansion rooms) to smaller guest suites (Standard rooms). All rooms are non-smoking rooms, and many are multi-bedded and suit the needs of families and groups. We also have rollaway beds and cots available on request. All room rates include continental breakfast, although a cooked breakfast is available for an additional charge. All guest rooms have been upgraded with new bedding and modernised furniture, some including work desks. As well as ensuites, guestrooms also have a television, small refridgerator, hairdryer, ironing board and iron, clock radio and tea/coffee making facilities. Painting and refurbishing of the guest rooms has started taking place. Duntryleague has also just finished renovating Margaret Dalton Lodge, a fully self-contained three bedroom flat, which is perfect for couples, groups and families. It offers a lounge and dining area, bathroom, self-contained kitchen and small outdoor area with BBQ. Breakfast is not included with the Lodge, (as it does have a kitchen within it), though both continental and hot breakfasts can be purchased from Duntryleague guesthouse just 30 seconds walk away. The Lodge does cater for disabled access as it is situated on ground level, adjacent to the main guesthouse. Unfortunately, due to being heritage listed and the historic nature of Duntryleague, there is NO disabled access to the main guesthouse. All guestrooms involve climbing stairs, as we are not permitted to install an elevator. Please also be mindful that as we are an older building, there may be the occasional creaky step or floorboard, but this is all apart of Duntryleague's charm! Guests are welcome to utilise the Club's facilities, including; Golf Course Tennis Courts Bar Brasserie (Open every day for lunch, Tuesday-Saturday for Dinner, Saturdays & Sundays for Breakfast & Brunch). The Guesthouse offers a variety of spaces for guest use, including the breakfast room and guest lounge with an open fireplace. Private functions and special arrangements for groups, such as BBQ's on the terrace, can be arranged. We are only a 2 minutes drive from the Orange CBD, and a 10 minute walk! We look forward to meeting you on your upcoming getaway to Duntryleague, Orange, NSW. ... more   less
