This guest house is a beautiful old 1870's mansion set in beautiful NSW Orange. Attached to an amazing private golf course. It's surroundings contain many majestic trees of all origins. This is a must stay if you love old grandeur of yesteryear. The floorboards creak but the bed is comfy and the rooms are warm and cosy. There is a... More

Stayed one night in this lovely guesthouse, and wish I could have spent more time there. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, the room, although small, was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. There is an ambience about this guesthouse - it is lovingly preserved and visually so very pleasing.

We stayed here for a wedding. A gorgeous old mansion. We had the Limerick Suite. Extremely comfortable beds and plenty of room. Wifi was excellent. Warm and clean. The food and set up was exceptional. Staff friendly and nice. If you can't climb stairs, don't stay here. Many and steep. Bring your camera. Both inside and out is stunning.

The accommodation was really good, bed very comfortable. The bathroom was a little on the small side, but I've been in worse, the water was hot, what more do you want. Lovely having the verandah off the room overlooking the driveway. Our only criticism is that over our dinner there was a young child allowed to run around the restaurant... More

Stayed a night for a res school at the uni. The bed was amazing and the shower was great. Lovely breakfast in the morning and super friendly staff. This house is amazing if you love old homes and well worth the stay.

This is a superb location on a golf course and the building is very grand. Our Mansion Room is very spacious with ensuite and doors to the balcony verandah. Mercifully there is no minibar - I hate them. It was down around zero outside with frost in the mornings but the room is very well heated. Beds are great but... More

Only stay here if you love that old world charm of yesteryear - lovely staircase and sitting rooms. Pleasant room - we stayed in room 3 - nice and warm when we arrived, great views over golf course with bay windows. Continental breakfast included but can pre order full breakfast. Very pleasant stay.

The mixed reviews here are a give-away that Duntryleague is not everyone's cup of tea - if you want slick, efficient and spotless then stay somewhere else in the lovely town of Orange. For many, however, many a stay here will be a memorable experience for all the good reasons. Wonderful old-world charm, some grand rooms, amazingly high ceilings, a... More

A business overnight stay. A room without window, so it was claustrophobic, but I should have checked before I booked it. The hot water pressure was not good enough, so it was hard to adjust for a warm shower! And the room heater was struggling to get any warmer than cool!! Maybe it is suitable for someone who is used... More

I had to stay for business overnight. I arrived in the afternoon to find out my room did not have a desk as request by my travel agent during the booking. I have been moved into a room with a " table"... I have had the most cold night in my entire life!! The air conditioning/ heater hardly produced heat...... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The historic Duntryleague guesthouse is situated in the botanical gardens setting of the Duntryleague's prestigious 18 hole championship golf course. Built in 1876 for local businessman James Dalton, the building now offers 14 accommodation rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. Accommodation in this 19th century mansion is in four categories, from original master suites (Mansion rooms) to smaller guest suites (Standard rooms). All rooms are non-smoking rooms, and many are multi-bedded and suit the needs of families and groups. We also have rollaway beds and cots available on request. All room rates include continental breakfast, although a cooked breakfast is available for an additional charge. All guest rooms have been upgraded with new bedding and modernised furniture, some including work desks. As well as ensuites, guestrooms also have a television, small refridgerator, hairdryer, ironing board and iron, clock radio and tea/coffee making facilities. Painting and refurbishing of the guest rooms has started taking place. Duntryleague has also just finished renovating Margaret Dalton Lodge, a fully self-contained three bedroom flat, which is perfect for couples, groups and families. It offers a lounge and dining area, bathroom, self-contained kitchen and small outdoor area with BBQ. Breakfast is not included with the Lodge, (as it does have a kitchen within it), though both continental and hot breakfasts can be purchased from Duntryleague guesthouse just 30 seconds walk away. The Lodge does cater for disabled access as it is situated on ground level, adjacent to the main guesthouse. Unfortunately, due to being heritage listed and the historic nature of Duntryleague, there is NO disabled access to the main guesthouse. All guestrooms involve climbing stairs, as we are not permitted to install an elevator. Please also be mindful that as we are an older building, there may be the occasional creaky step or floorboard, but this is all apart of Duntryleague's charm! Guests are welcome to utilise the Club's facilities, including; Golf Course Tennis Courts Bar Brasserie (Open every day for lunch, Tuesday-Saturday for Dinner, Saturdays & Sundays for Breakfast & Brunch). The Guesthouse offers a variety of spaces for guest use, including the breakfast room and guest lounge with an open fireplace. Private functions and special arrangements for groups, such as BBQ's on the terrace, can be arranged. We are only a 2 minutes drive from the Orange CBD, and a 10 minute walk! We look forward to meeting you on your upcoming getaway to Duntryleague, Orange, NSW. ... more   less
