i found this place to bed one of the best places i have stayed yet, can't express how wonderful the staff and the grounds are, Stephen the manager was amazing with the night tours around newcastle and taking us all shopping when it was raining so we didn't get wet, the atmosphere was just great...a big thanks to you for... Booked a double room here, on arrival we were told there wasn't one available so we could either leave or take the 4 bed shared dorm, everywhere else in Newcastle was fully booked as it was surf fest so we had no choice but to stay! Didn't get to have a proper view of the room until night time as... More

We stayed in Newcastle as a stop off, ahead of Sydney to break up the journey. Upon check in, there was an issue with our payment (which we had paid) however this was down to hostelworld I believe, rather than the hostel itself. Whilst checking in, the guy dealing with us started a discussion with his colleague regarding what they... More

This is the first backpackers my friend and I have stayed at. Everyone was super friendly and the staff are amazing. Its in a good loccation and have a beautiful outside area with a pool and hammocks. If im in the area again ill definitely return. Its a really fun place to stay.

We had a room with 4 beds. It's quiet big and got everything you need. A nice living room with a kitchen.. Enough space for everyones food.. A supermarket is near the hostel. Some pubs are around. There is a nice walking area along the coast with a great view.

It was very reasonably priced at only $30 dollars a night and honestly it’s very hard to find anything negative to say about the place. The hostel is run by a lady called Momma Shar. An absolute legend of a lady, a great host and extremely helpful. On the night I stayed she put on a free meal for the... More

Stayed there for one night while traveling up the east coast. Lovely lady with lovely dog. She picked me up from the bus station in a thunder storm what was really nice of her a lot of hostels I stayed in wouldn't do that. The room I stayed in was clean and tidy, the common room looked big and clean... More

Stayed here for one night while passing through on my way up the coast. Lovely lady on the front desk was more than helpful and makes you feel very welcome. I wasn't there long enough to get a property feel for the place but overall I felt very comfortable and looked after. Lovely pool area, hammocks and outside seating area.... More

I only stayed for one night but actually would have loved to stay longer. The owner was just so lovely and the place so homely with great people that it was super inviting. The hostel consists of several buildings and has a vintage charm to it with its wooden exterior but with stuccos on the ceilings inside. Even the bathroom... More

Hostel was ok, had a pool, tv room and free shuttle. The owner was friendly and had a lovely dog called Larry. The rooms and bathroom are in desperate need of a refurbish. There is not enough hobs in the kitchen area and not enough toilets.
