Great country feel Sunday night pub stay. Lovely staff made the night both satisfying and fulfilling with the local pizzeria delivering to the main bar. Definitely would stay here again. Comfy beds, good amenities. Lovely set up in the beer garden, including little surprises and entertainment for kids. Extremely helpful and friendly publican. Many thanks to the bar attendee who... Old style pub accommodation (many rooms open out to the upstairs balcony) with separate bathrooms. Friendly staff, great bar atmosphere (not just a 'boy's bar), motorbike friendly. No pub meals on Sundays but there was plenty of help to find an alternative eatery.

Always enjoy our stay at this old pub. Inexpensive, clean, kitchen facilities, wide breezy verandahs to sit and watch Grafton go by. Other guests whined of no air con but hey go and pay 3 times the price in a noisy characterless brick motel downtown. Pub owners selling so our cheap cheerful holidays in beautiful tree filled Grafton may be... More

Pretty hard to beat this pub in Grafton for value. We usually stay at another local, but a mate said to try Roches and we didn't regret it. Typical old style pub accommodation with high ceiling, a shared bathroom facility and a shared kitchen with coffee, milk and toast. Bargain basement price, but great value. We ate in the dining... It's cute, it's in the city, it's old, it's new, it's cheap. With a restaurant/pool table/ pub/cafe/sit-out-front charme downstairs, the hotel is the upstairs and puts you back into Wild West movies/early settlers charm with old carpets, wooden saloon doors, steps and stairs and the greatest-biggest-prettiest balcony ever. Surprised by the modern bathrooms!

Rooms were tidy and clean and there was no noise from the pub downstairs despite the busy crowd. Food menu was extensive, good quality and reasonably priced. Biker friendly and you could lock your bike in behind the beer garden gates at closing time.

Having travelled most of country Australia ,the best and only way to experience each town is by mixing with the locals. Roches Hotels hits the mark in every way. immaculately clean, quality fittings, large rooms and the best of all was the Bistro. Not your regular country pub food, would you think you were in one of the smarter city... More

I chose to stay here as I needed a break from sharing dorm rooms and this was even cheaper than hostels for a single room! Very clean, big room, lovely big balcony, great showers. The pub downstairs does good food and is a nice place to meet some interesting locals and watch the footy!

Stopped at Roches for one night in April while passing through on a drive down the coast. The hotel is above a pub and when you arrive you look and think why have I booked here, however, this changes very quickly. Taken up to our room which was huge and although dated was very clean and exactly what we needed... More
