Loved our cheap stay at the Astor! We should have been camping but it was raining and freezing cold. Decided to get pizza and fajitas from the restaurant. Bad idea. Fajitas were good but tiny for the price. Pizza was not what it should have been and nearly inedible crust. Great motel but go somewhere else for food. Also. Get... More

Bed was terrible, you could feel the springs in the mattress, need replacing. No hair washing products. Shower worked Ok. Gap around basin overhead light, you could see the plumbing pipe to the shower.

Paint peeling in large amounts from ceilings. Room smelled of cigarette upon arrival. Dark, cheap and nasty feeling room. Poor lighting, poor ventilation. Shower is in dire need of attention , paint also flaking from shower ceiling due to lack of air. Windows on one side of building are painted over for privacy. Tacky and cheap

We knew that the Astor was an older style Motel, however we were shocked at just how old it was. It was unfortunately worse than we'd expected. We paid $110.00 for a Double that should have been $70.00. It really needs a major upgrade. Both my husband & I do a lot of travelling with work, so we know what... More

If you've been driving all day, and just need a place to crash, then sure, this is better than your car. But only marginally. The roof was falling apart, the clean glasses weren't particularly clean, the bed felt like you were lying on the chopped up body parts of those who had been murdered before. No parking space, lights were... More

Old and shabby now. The adjacent pub well patronised and therefore noisy. Beds ok, bathroom cramped with no extraction fan. Jug and tea and coffee provided. Easy walk along Main Street for a meal and shops. Won't stay there again!

I booked this room just for a bed for the night. It was clean and tidy, small but practical. Staff were friendly. Although there have been some minor renovations and upgrades made, the toilet/shower area were a bit of a squeeze if your a big unit like me. I look forward to any renovations the owners might have planned for... More

The room was spacious, but that was about the only good thing. No parking spaces, the room had an unpleasant smell, the Windows wouldn't stay open the get some fresh air in, the walls were paper thin and the paint is peeling off the walls. Not to mention the spider webs! Add to this, the loud music from the pub... More

A last minute booking into the Astor Hotel/motel left me feeling nervous.... But upon check in was greeted by pleasant staff and found the room, although basic, clean and comfortable. Being a Friday night I found it a bit noisy with the pub outdoor area close by but it was to be expected and slept... Until the cleaners emptied the... More

We stayed one night. We were in a room near the garden end of the bar. After 11pm music was still being played at very high decibels. The music was coming from the hotel bar. When I called to ask when they were going to turn it down or off I was transferred to a very rude manager who was... More
