We came for dinner on a Saturday night, after it was recommended to us from our hotel. The staff were efficient and friendly, and quickly had us seated with drinks on the way. The menu is varied and suits people of all dietary requirements. The food was tasty, and well prepared, and we enjoyed the venue. It was not busy,... More

I love this hotel, its right on the main street on the corner with a massive balcony. Not much traffic & quiet at night. The room is massive and the decore matches the hotel perfectly. I loved the bathroom spa. The room has really high ceilings and the softest carpet that makes it feeling like walking on cushions. The staff... More

The staff made our stay really wonderful. My sister and I stayed for 5 nights and staff couldn't do enough to help and made us very welcome. Room was comfortable, meals were delicious, location good. Only problem was there was no lift, really need this for the older generation, otherwise, great place to stay in Broken Hill.

Excellent menu selection at reasonable prices. I had the lamb shanks and they were cooked to perfection but unfortunately had to be returned to the kitchen to be heated up.Choose a seat away from the doors in winter including the breakfast area because it can get a little cold

We were visiting Broken Hill for a few days, and glad we chose to stay at The Astra, where we stayed in a grand old hotel room, with balcony, etc. The room was quite large, but very comfortable, and clean. The hotel is centrally located, and does provide car parking at the rear. The hotel is obviously very popular with... More

Stayed here for the AgFair and as usual the place was well presented. Have stayed here a number of times now and not been disappointed. This is a large two story fully renovated hotel in the middle of the main street of Broken Hill. Considered one of the best spots to stay in town. Be aware all rooms are upstairs... More

There are 3 places to eat here. We had dinner one night at the back (more expensive and classy) and live music which was excellent. The food was a bit price but nice. Another night we had a pizza and some wine at the cheaper part of the hotel. The waiter was amazing and helped us with our WIFI. The... More

Nice atmosphere and centrally located, but too expensive for what you get. $42 for a dozen oysters kilpatrick? Also received our main meal before the entree, so had to send send it back to keep warm. One girl provided excellent service, but she was the only one. The heavily tattooed lady was a distraction.
