It could be so good – a village pub with many locals and rooms for visitors. However the chef/landlord does not seem welcoming to new guests or returning ones and the staff seem to reflect his “take it or leave it” attitude. For example if a special is sold out then why not suggest an alternative or at least express... More

A lovely traditional Sunday Lunch in a very pub with pretty walks nearby to work up an appetite beforehand. The roast beef was divine, melt in the mouth deliciousness. Friendly staff, great atmosphere with log fire and a well kept local secret. Nick, the chef, stopped by our table to make sure we were happy and enjoying ourselves. Has one... More

I've been coming to this place for years and it is much changed from my original memories. This is not to say in a bad way but of course we always look back on things with a rose coloured experience and I've not been here regulary for over 15 or 20 years. Lunch today was charming and the food excellent;... More

I was part of a group of 9 relatives staying at this delightful little Inn recently. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, nothing was too much trouble for the very friendly, helpful folk running the pub. The food, prepared by mein host, was excellent with every consideration given to special dietary needs. The Inn is situated... More

We were made welcome and given comfortable, good sized rooms with en suites. It met all our needs. Our little dog was also made welcome and we had no problems with her staying there. We had a very nice pre wedding dinner and breakfast the day after with all the family. The hotel was very accommodating in arranging these meals... More

We went and the kids had the mixed grill, what great value for money, it worked out cheaper than McDonald's which is great for over the holidays. It is pub food. Great play area outside too. Staff friendly.

We stayed here whilst attending a wedding nearby. There were 4 couples altogether and all 4 were happy with the location, price, hosts and food! Having seen 4 of the 5 rooms available they were all nicely presented and one in particular had a quirky balcony and 4 poster bed leading to a further garden up a small slope. On... More

Having stayed here but not trying the restaurant on that visit we vowed to return. We did, and wow!!! This guy can cook!! Really fantastic tasting, well presented food. Quiet night in the pub but still made to feel very welcome, not rushed. Would put high on my recommendations list.

Booked through laterooms.com but the room was not as described and service was at best surly. By booking the more expensive room (£85pn) meant that early arrival was possible ie before 6pm. This was impossible as the inn was not contactable from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. On arrival we were ignored for some time. Once we had the attention of the... More

We rented a room here as we were attending a wedding nearby in Fittleworth. We were shown to our room and impressed with the size. The bedroom had a very comfy bed, tv, coffee machine, plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. Despite being at the front of the pub next to a road, it was a very quiet area and... More
