It's a basic "all inclusive" hotel with 3 meals and very basic snacks inbetween. The drinks are generic and while you can drink the tap water and also pour water in glasses the bottled water is extra, as are the beach towels.

The water park is OK, has something for all ages but the big slides are not that big or exciting.

The hotel grounds are nice enough and feature several buildings. There were always enough lounge chairs and and no fuss with people "reserving" and not using them.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The surrounding area is not exciting but there is a city buss right on the doorstep that runs every 20 minutes and takes you as far as Chania. Takes about 50 mins to get there.

This would have been a 4 star review had it not been for the lack of variety of food and it's quality. This is really what brings the hotel down. Bring this up a notch and it would lift the hotel as a whole.

Room Tip: Take the local buss to Chania. Runs often, late, and it's cheap. Rent a car to go to Elafonisi,...

Very disappointed- AI very very basic, little choice of food and we aren’t fussy eaters but they couldn’t even cook fries correctly - either barely cooked or shrivelled and cold. Drinks - weak.
Rooms are beautiful though and each block has a pool, the water park is about an eight minute walk down the side of the hotel.
There is NOTHING around so no where to have a wander in an evening and minimal entertainment.

This hotel doesn't deserve some of the poor reviews that it was been given at all.
However other customers - 99% German are extremely rude and judging by the manner in which they barge into people, their eyes must be drawn on.

Upon arrival we were met by a very nice receptionist who had prepared us a sandwich as it was late at night. He showed us to our room which again was lovely, however lacked basic necessities such as coffee, tea and bottled water. However a fridge and kettle were provide which didn't really make sense to me.

Food was excellent, unsure how anyone can complain about it. They even provided the typical beige food for those with kids but again restaurant spoilt by ignorant germans who seem to think queues don't apply to them.

Receptionist staff were by far the best, always went above and beyond to help with questions about the local area.

Cleaners extremely hardworking and friendly too.

Hotel is quite isolated with the only entertainment being on a Sunday - but its definitely worth watching. We laughed for three hours straight.

Buses are easy to use and cheap. I recommend Platanius for an evening night out and Chania old town is well worth a day trip and thats approximate one hour away. Buses are reliable and run until 1am.

Nearly shops are a rip off. Come out of the hotel, turn right and walk 20mins until you come to the Svepta supermarket which is the only genuine supermarket.

Don't bother going to Knossos. It's absolutely diabolical. 4 hours travel each way and literally nothing to see, apart from little cats being mowed down by careless drivers. I'd avoid Heraklion altogether.

What spoilt the holiday for me was the snack bar staff. The lady was unbelievably rude, unsure if language barrier or just generally hated her job but I'm going with the latter due to other people saying the same whilst we were there. Music she played round the pool was fair though and the other staff member who ran the pool bar whilst she was off clearly had no concept of what was appropriate music. Playing all the typical English club music loudly with all bad language whilst loads of children were around. The pool area emptied out whilst he was there.

Try sko skouteli down the road if you fancy a meal out too. Amazing and so cheap.

I enjoyed my holiday but not enough room go back and again the main draw back being the pool bar staff. Let the rest of their team down massively.

On arrival we were allocated a room in the main hotel. This room was very poor standard and in no way any were near a 4 star as advertised.
The room was dark and dated with old furniture. the bed was two singles pushed together and as hard as sleeping on the floor.
The room smelt musty. This was not represented in the pictures on web site.
Moving to the bathroom there were light fittings hanging out of the ceiling with wires showing looked dangerous. the bath was very tatty looking with mould around the tiles , the bath seal was dirty and had been repaired many times so was scruffy. the tiles on the floor were cracked and broken in some places. The shower curtain was mouldy and there was a smell of drains.
The balcony was supposed to have a sea view not in my view. There were many areas with plaster coming off and rust.

The restaurant was clean but dated, The food was of poor standard. the food that was supposed to be warm was only luke warm at best and limited. There were flies around the salad bar no insect o cutor in sight. There were dogs and cats allowed to roam around the restaurant inside and out which is not hygienic.
There was only 1 coffee machine for the entire restaurant which was slow. The juice machine served weak tasteless juice again only 1 machine. For evening meals limited choice and luke warm again. Local beer , wine, and pop only.
They did offer branded drinks but extra 4.5 euros each. There own local drinks tasted all the same no difference between whisky brandy ,vodka and there so called cocktails.
We did ask for a different room the ones in the main hotel were all the same so we were offered an upgrade but at a cost, two choices 15 euros per night and 30 euros per night we looked at both the extra 15 euros a night was not much better and border line 3 star accommodation. the second choice was in a new block and better but still only boarder line 4 star.
so we agreed to pay the extra 30 euros a night total cost 270 euros. Plus an extra 33 euros room tax.
Just adding insult to injury a family who moved into the room next to us in the new block were given a free upgrade we could not believe this so asked at reception who told me they were given the upgrade free by their tour operator after they complained.
The hotel was in no way fully occupied in fact in the new block 90 percent of the rooms were empty.
The swimming pools looked clean but were empty due to the fact they freezing the sea was warmer can not under stand why they are not temperature maintained.

We had a very nice stay at Selini Suites, which we can definitely recommend to others. Kind and helpful staff and a good variety of food in the buffet, which offers new things throughout the week. I'm not very used to the concept of all inclusive, but this was more than I could have hoped for. Always plenty of everything at any time of the day – you won't go hungry to bed. Our hotel room was clean and spacious and with a view of the sea and the hotel pool. The hotel itself is located just a few minutes walk from the beach, and from there, it's a 20 minutes walk to the village of Kolymbari which feels very local and offers beautiful old buildings, restaurants and a big supermarket, an ATM and other things. The area in general is very quiet and not a lot going on, which is great for just enjoying the peace, the water and the sun. If you want to visit Chania, it's very easy to go with the bus, which stops right outside the hotel and will take you to the city center in 40 minutes for the price of 2.6 EUR (I believe). Also, there is an extra employee in the bus who issues the tickets (which is not the driver him/herself), and he/she will also help you get on the bus safely and find a seat for you if you have walking impairment for instance, which is just an excellent level of service which we could learn from in Denmark :) Otherwise a taxi is also affordable in Crete, and will get you there in just 20-25 minutes.

Overall, we had a very pleasant experience with this hotel and with Crete in general.

Hotel is beautiful, staff are very friendly. Rooms are cleaned daily (except Sundays) and fresh towels provided. The pool is very clean and the sunbeds are comfortable, these are very neatly arranged every night in preparation for the following day. The gardens are well kept, the flowers are gorgeous and colourful. The majority of guests were young families. Food was very good, great selection every day and the Greek salads are amazing! It lacked evening entertainment though, there was a Greek band, who were very talented, and they brought a great atmosphere to the place, but they only performed once a week, apart from that there is nothing. There is a small games room next to the pool, but it's not up to much, it's tired looking and needs a refurb. Waterpark is just down the road, 5 min walk - snacks, drinks, beer, ice cream included as part of all inclusive here, this was a nice surprise! The beach is just passed the waterpark. Its pebbly so definately need shoes. Bus stop right outside the hotel, buses are every 20 mins, every day. Nearest main area is Platanias, about 20min bus ride, this has lots of restaurants, bars and shops. Chania old town is about 45 min bus ride, it's stunning. There are lots of shops and markets and restaurants right by the sea. There are horse and cart rides, the scenery is beautiful.
We had a great stay here, felt very chilled, relaxed and looked after.

Just want to say thank you so much to Maria Effie and Lita for the most relaxing massage experience. The offers they have are fantastic and Maria is so good at thinking of the right package for your needs.. My husband had a very strong massage mine was more gentle. This started our holiday off in the best way. All three ladies are kind knowledgeable and welcoming.. the wellness room can accommodate couples massage or individuals and has a soothing ambience. Don't expect centreparcs style spa but go in the knowledge that you will be cared for superbly and have the most glorious treatments at unbelievable prices

We found it so good we have squeezed in another session before we go home ...this time reflexology

Friendly and helpful staff. The bedroom was clean and well decorated - There was a bedroom, separate small area with a sofa bed and desk and a balcony - exactly as shown in the website photo. The food was OK. Breakfast was nice. For lunch and dinner there was an excellent salad bar. The meat was tender. Food was not always very hot. Some of the food looked more appealing than other. Local beer and wine was OK although red wine was served chilled.

Upon arrival, the hotel looked beautiful, we were greeted by George at reception who was lovely at the start but started turning very horrible and ( I don't mean to be rude) useless. He gave us no information about the hotel and the facilities, he had just shown us the room and just handed me a paper, to which the lights were not working, we waited about 15 to 20 minutes for them to be fixed, the WiFi was appalling, Whenever we had a question he was incredibly hostile and for someone that apparently has 15 years experience he had no clue about any of the tourist attractions and was rude when we were trying to figure out what we can do instead of helping us. However apart from that the stay was beautiful, the room was gorgeous with one amazing view, every member of the kitchen was stunning and amazing at what they do especially Olivia who was a star, each member would greet you a friendly hello. Nancy at reception was brilliant and incredibly helpful. Although the pool was freezing, it was beautiful to sit by it and enjoy the sun. All I would suggest is they to find a way to heat the pool because it felt like an ice bath. I can't say I would stay again but it was beautiful.

This recently renovated hotel certainly looks the part. Big open car park leading into a beautiful lobby area. George greeted us on reception and was an absolute pleasure, showing us to our room.

The rooms looked exactly like what was advertised and initially we seen no issues. The restaurant and pool area are also very well kept. It wasn't too busy when we were there but it was right at the start of the main season so may be more difficult to get seats later in the year but we never had an issue getting a table or sun loungers for the entire stay.

The food was perfectly fine, large room with plenty of choice, the only downside was that it was mostly the same food each day, some things were different but it was a small downside. The hot plate area where the chef was cooking always had omelettes at breakfast and souvlaki, chips, and bread on evenings for example, possibly could change things up here? We've stayed at other locations where they've had omelettes, pancakes and various other things on mornings. Food for thought.
The location of the hotel is in quite a quiet area, too. There is a few things dotted about but you're talking about a 30 minute walk realistically to find any more built-up areas, no doubt the perfect location if you rent a car, especially with the on-site car park.

The only real negatives though were the shower and the dogs next door. Admittedly, the hotel can take zero blame for the dogs, but if you're staying to the East of reception, the residential property next door leaves their dogs (at least 5) outside 24 hours per day and they bark throughout the night, I would certainly advise getting earplugs. The other issue was our shower was broken. We noticed at the beginning of the holiday that the shower head was cracked and reported it immediately. It did still work but water sprayed out of the crack meaning the entire floor got soaked, not the biggest of issues but I did slip once which could have been a lot worse and even more so had my pregnant wife slipped.

All in all, a very good hotel, especially for the price, possibly with a few teething issues so soon after the renovation. The staff were all pleasant enough and we would recommend it to others.
