Amazing location, perfect facilities and great service from Cat and team. Greeted on arrival and taken to lodge safe haven from sand flies. Very friendly and casual which suits the location on the laid back West Coast. Perfectly located to end of Old Ghost Rd mountain bike track which was awesome.

We stayed 3 days at the lodge tied in with biking the Heaphy and the Old Ghost. Cat and her team went out of their way to help and they were genuinely great hosts and very helpful and flexible given we had some early starts and late finishes on our biking days. I will be going back and taking my... More

Great evening meals. Yummy pizzas. Roaring fires. Unbelievable setting. Warm welcome. Scalding showers. Huge beds. Fantastic fishing. Warm, quiet rooms. A building that enfolds you in cosy corners. Great music. Family friendly. Perfect base to explore upper West Coast or just chill out.

We were wholeheartedly welcomed to Rough and Tumble after a few great days riding the Old Ghost Rd. Set right next to the river in real west coast country! Great way to end the trail. We just dropped in for a coffee and muffin but will be keen to stay in the great looking lodgings next time. See you next... More

The host was super friendly and hospitable and it was a perfect end to our mountain biking adventure staying at this wonderful comfortable lodge and conversing with the guy who made it all happen. Dinner was great and the lodge is situated in such a beautiful part of the country.

Weasel the host of The lodge was awesome and the lodge was a perfect combination of rustic and luxury for chilling out after two days mountain biking the Old Ghost road. Weasel whipped us up an awesome meal of pulled porked and roast veggies and the chili chocolate brownies were just spectacular.

If you're doing 'The Old Ghost a Trail' you have to stay a night here at the end of the trail. Great accommodation, food and tales from Marion 'Weasel' Boatwright. If you aren't doing the ride stay anyway, it's a great place for a relaxing getaway.

Marion "Weasel" Boatwright is an inspiration. His dedication to the Lodge, his guests and the Old Ghost Road is truly commendable and the food is delicious with a small but good selection of wine and beer. We relaxed totally for a day to catch our breath from 4 weeks travelling as a family with our 8 year old son. We... More

What a great place to end the Old Ghost Road ride. A tasty hearty meal and glass of wine from the bar after a hard couple of days riding with dehy food. The setting makes you feel like you're still in the bush but the the lodge itself feels like boutique accommodation. Weasel was in good form and still had... More
