What an amazing setting. We wish we could stay longer! We had the cottage for two nights and enjoyed every moment of our stay. Our hosts were super friendly and welcomed us on arrival. The cottage was extremely well appointed and had a very generous selection of breakfast options. We woke every morning to bird calls with a view to die for!! We highly recommend the cottage for your next breakaway!!!

Lovely welcome from the host's and Izzy their beautiful dog. The cottage is everything you could want or need. So warm, cosy and comfortable. Delightful garden, leading to the sea view that can be seen from the lounge. There is a couple of spots at the bottom of the garden where you can sit enjoy a wine and nibbles whilst taking in the view and fresh sea air. Delish continental breakfast including fresh eggs. There is nothing skimped at this accom. Close by, walks to see the seals and the lighthouse. The local tavern 5 min walk. Good restaurants. What more could you want. Can't wait to return.

We stayed in the cottage - so spacious, beautiful garden, right on the coast - a home away from home. So relaxing and very special place. Pub down the road for meals. GREAT hosts - definitely recommend!

We had one of our best stays in New Zealand at this charming and well-appointed B&B. We stayed at the self-contained studio for 1 night and had everything we needed. It was appointed with a fridge, microwave, sink, dishes, cutlery, etc and fixings for continental breakfast. The gardens and sea views were magnificent. We had not pre-booked this stay, so it was an especially nice surprise to call for availability from the road and be rewarded with such lovely accommodations. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and even treated us to white bait fish fritters they had made for some friends that were visiting at the time. They also recommended a nearby restaurant where we had delicious fresh turbot. In the morning we visited the nearby seal colony and continued our trip from there. Our only regret was not being there long enough to enjoy this beautiful and relaxing location!

The view from our cottage is from far one of the best we had in New Zealand! View to the see thru a great garden!
The cottage we had was quite big, and we had a very quiet night very. We loved so much the view that we had dinner here, after having bought 2 hamburgers.
Breakfast was fine, and we had everything we needed in the fridge.
Our host was very welcoming.
That’s such a lovely place there!

We stayed two nights with Pauline and Bruce Cargill. Very accommodating and genuine hosts. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. Amazing scenery and Pauline has a green thumb—gardens are beautiful. We stayed in the one-bedroom cottage overlooking the Tasman Sea. It was a private, self contained cottage that had all the amenities. Full kitchen and laundry facilities including the use of the barbecue. Wi-fi. Very spacious. So relaxing we didn’t want to leave! A ten-minute drive into Westport to buy groceries and get gas. Wonderful hike along the ocean beginning at the Lighthouse to the Seal Colony.

Stayed in the cottage which has a magnificent view of the ocean. The ground are manicured and flowers abound. Cottage is delightful, comfortable, roomy and the price is very, very reasonable. We paid twice as much at other places but never got the quality we got here. Highly, highly recommended. (And be sure to eat at the Starr Tavern down the street)...

The B&B has the advantage of having a beautiful view of the sea... However, we did stay at other homestays and farmstays in NZ and we found this place lacking the kind of warmth and hospitality that we had come to expect.

For one, although the temperature at Westport, while we were there, was almost 34 degrees celsius, the room was not provided with any fans at all. When we asked for a fan we were informed that there were none available because apparently nobody ever complained about the heat before.

Secondly, the room itself looked more like an outhouse. The property itself was not very well maintained, I stepped on dog poo out in the lawn. Most of the plants were just overgrown. The parking was a bit away from our room so it was rather difficult to lug our heavy suitcase into the room and we got totally drenched when it was raining.

Finally, the breakfast we were provided was a rather basic one of corn flakes, juice, fruits, toast and eggs and finally, tea or coffee. In other homestays we had been provided with lavish freshly cooked breakfasts that included a lot more at the same price!

But perhaps, what I missed the most here was the warm hospitality of a homestay.
