Disclaimer: we don’t normally stay in small B and B’s but the reviews described this as a lodge with five stars so we took a chance. It's a small house with three bedrooms, small kitchen and living room. View of lake to be sure, but lots of road noise although being elevated on a hill you don't actually see the road. Breakfast: three types of store-bought cereal, a small container of yougurt for a couple to share, a small communal bowl of diced applies, organge and maybe one other fruit, toast, two instant coffees and a plunger although the coffee was unspecified. Note that most of the reviews are years old; I suspect guests are unhappy but the owner is such a nice guy (and he no doubt is) that they don't leave reviews. I should've looked at the dates of reviews closer. Honest reviews are what makes Trip Advisor useful…
Great location with a beautiful view of the mountains and lake. The people in our Milford Sound tour group said they were jealous of our views when they picked us up here in the morning. The owner was very friendly and hospitable and everything was very clean. We would definitely return if we ever found ourselves in New Zealand again.
After living and travelling in NZ for years, I can say with confidence that Loch Vista is my favourite spot to stay. Pam is an incredible host: generous, kind, and accomodating. After staying in 2014 we brought visitors here in 2017. They were duly impressed! The views are stunning and the lodge is a beautiful home. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful holiday in Dec, especially the days we spent at Loch Vista. Paul had thoughtfully prepared all that we needed, including the breakfast provisions - I loved cooking in the huge kitchen and looking out over Lake Te Anua. The rooms were wonderfully appointed and the bathrooms spotlessly clean. The laundry facilities were just what we needed for a fuss free family trip. Definitely worth a stay! ... and more!
Beautiful & spacious place to stay. 10 of us were so happy with the views, amenities (well stocked breakfast), amazing sun rise & sunset vistas & a stopover for On ward drive to Milford sound, with look out points at lakes & The Chasm.
