I arrived late in the afternoon and was greeted with a wonderful smile. A powered site was offered with a great view of the lake and close to the amenities block. The price was good too. I initially stayed 3 nights extending it another 2nights. Nothing was any trouble, from pointing out local attractions and helping to point out the local night life.
The motel has a very supportive team making check-in and question answering easy and fun. The room we were in is a duplex with many items needed for a do-it-yourself crowd. Comfortable bed. Plenty of lighting. Nice bathroom with. Over-he’d hey lamp. Very nice sink/counter with cooking items below. Great parking just outside next to room. Into town as five minutes with many restaurants from which to choose. Would stay again.
We stayed in one of the small cabins and using the park bathroom facilities. It was very basic but very comfortable and great value for money and this was exactly what we were looking for. The staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful. We had to store a couple of bags when we went on our hike and they have great locker rooms that have large lockers that will accommodate large bags. The bathroom and kitchen facilities are very tidy and clean. The water in the shower was always lovely and hot. This park is in a very convenient location and I would highly recommend looking at this for you next visit to Te Anau.
This is a large site of all sorts of accommodation. It is about a 10 min walk from Te Anau’s main eating, shopping and tourism. The welcome is very friendly. We used a motorhome site. All these sites and tent sites around us were level and green with grass. Shared amenities were clean and spacious. A downside was only one toaster (and a queue for it at breakfast). A big upside was roomy showers. Being tall, I was so happy to shower without bashing my arms, head and elbows against shower walls. Recommended.
Spent 2 nights here after Christmas, used as the departing place for a Milford Sounds tour. Self contained powered site, great to be able to use the communal facilities, including the kitchen. Everything was clean, good showers. Lovely location right by the lake - easy for a morning run! - and great views in the evening.
Unexpected awesome find! Stayed on a non-powered site for a just over a week at Xmas/New Year. Couldn’t believe we could choose our own spot, so laid back. Checkin was contactless and easy online. Facilities all fantastic, clean and spacious. Compared to the nightmare of crowding in other local spots like wanaka, we’d return in a heartbeat. Boat ramp across the road and lake front swimming right on the doorstep. As kiwis travelling with two vehicles and a JetSki it’s normally stressful and a dice roll to find a site big enough. We will 100% be back!
Nice and tidy with friendly staff. Stayed in Family studio large which had a queen and 4 bunk beds in one room. Removed one star for only having one bowl in “ self contained room” and another star for no sink/ tap in room despite microwave, cutlery etc. . Only drinking water was an outside tap or walk across site to main bathrooms.
Stayed two nights on powered pitch either side of our trip to Milford Sound. Lake just across the road and visitor centre and town centre super close. We had a view across the lake to mountains and enjoyed the views. Facilities were good and very clean. Will stay again if we return to Te Anau.
Fairly basic lodge in an holiday complex. Good point was that is was unexpectantly quiet, so got a good night's sleep. Good location for getting into the town and lake, and as we did 2 hour drive to Milford Sound. Downside was the complete lack of working WiFi. It was free with no log in, so with a park that size, lots of people on, so slowing down to almost non existent.
Really friendly staff which was nice. I stayed in a single room which is a very convenient option for someone travelling solo. The hallway in the building was quite noisy with people walking up and down - otherwise it was a great stay. The drying room required you to turn the heater on every hour so keep this in mind for if you're wanting to get stuff dry.
