The Stewart Island lodge was everything you could wish for. Fantastic host in Lisa, full of fantastic ideas for what we wanted to do, planned our days as we wished. Comfortable spacious clean rooms, great company, loved the kaka's and they loved us (peanuts). Saw a kiwi, what a highlight.

Stewart island lodge is small place- can hold 10-12 people. Nice, comfy, tidy. Amenities are good considering is on an offshore island. The views are really good, the staff ( Chris - manager) are helpful, courteous and friendly. Breakfast is essentially some fruit, cereal, bread/bagels/jam tea and coffee. Major attraction is that Stewart is is one of the few places...

My wife and I travelled from Bluff to Stewart Island via the sea ferry operated by Stewart Island Experience. This company also operates the lodge and a local tour. In consequence they provide a seamless transport from the wharf to the lodge and also the return trip when your visit is over. The transport from the wharf to the lodge...

Lisa, the proprietress is the fount of all the knowledge you need to have about the island, and then some. The accommodation is modern, very well equipped and spotlessly clean and the views are splendid from all the rooms. You may well be visited by a friendly Kaka that appears on the balcony from time to time. A lavish continental...

This is the perfect place to stay in New Zealand. It is close to the ferry, close to all the places to eat and offers up an amazing view. It is also close to the beginning of the coastal walk around the island. Lisa was very friendly and helpful when my shark trip was cancelled due to weather. I would...

This is our second time in as many months staying at the lodge, both times Lisa had made us feel like family. She has both times given great advice on what to do , and made last minute bookings (due to cancelled excursions). Nothing was too hard or too much trouble.
