Once again the Sofitel Hotel of the Accor Group never lets us down. Brilliant attention to detail. The staff were helpful without be intrusive. Phillip the operations manager (I think) was exceptional. We love the Sofitel. We will always book the Sofitel when we are in Queentown; summer or winter seasons.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Sofitel. Location was perfect & very central. Loved our large room, clean, and bedding was extremely comfortable. We were there on Christmas Day and really enjoyed the special beautiful degustation menu with matching wines they offered that night. Also ate at the wine bar one night - meal was perfect. Service was very attentive throughout the hotel. Breakfast was sufficient although not a huge selection which was disappointing. View from our room while we could see the mountain (& the hang-gliders) which was lovely, as we were not on top floor we looked out to the carpark which wasn’t great but a minor thing really as Queenstown has so much to see you don’t spend a lot of time at the balcony. Thank you for a wonderful stay Sofitel, it made the first 5 days of our holiday perfect.

This hotel was incredible, a true 5 star experience. We stayed for 4 nights on a short trip to Queenstown recently. The hotel location is great and very central to everything you need. Our room was very spacious and very well appointed with a lux vibe. A small balcony provided us with a breathtaking view of the Remarkables. A Nespresso coffee maker and turn down service was a nice touch. We had breakfast included which was great. Heaps of options and a lovely start to the day. The hotel staff went out of their way to make the experience great even arranging for a gift of the body lotion when I told them that we loved it. The lobby bar is also great and worth a visit or even sitting in the lobby and admiring the decor. We felt like we were in Europe. The only area for improvement from my perspective was the room service options which were limited. I love luxury hotels and this is now one of my favourites! Well done to management for hiring and training great staff - it makes your hotel a standout!

Our stay at Sofitel Queenstown was absolutely amazing from check in to check out. All staff are extremely service orientated and friendly, with many taking the time to ask about our stay and our daily plans. Staff clearly enjoy working here. We stayed in a Junior Suite. The rooms are of decent size, with seperate living area and balconies off both rooms with views over Queenstown. The rooms have everything required including a spa bath. The location is excellent being just steps away from central Queenstown. Breakfasts are amazing, with buffet options or items can be ordered from a menu. We also enjoyed the Club lounge. The staff should be very proud of the service they offer and I cannot speak highly enough of the amazing stay we experienced. I fully recommend Sofitel Queenstown and we cannot wait to return!

We chose the Sofitel as an ideal hotel to conclude our brief vacation in South Island NZ. Sadly, it fell short of our expectations and lets the Sofitel brand down badly. The building is apparently undergoing some “light maintenance “, which means that there is the smell of paint in the corridors. In addition, the air conditioning is being replaced, meaning that every room has a noisy fan heater, that does its best to interfere with sleep. Neither of us had a relaxed night’s sleep due to the heater starting and stopping regularly. The hotel is critically short staffed, there is no restaurant open for dinner, just tapas at the bar. Whilst not bad, it’s a poor substitute for a restaurant meal. Fortunately Queenstown has lots of quality restaurants. The breakfast service on Sunday 4th June was comedic, with lots of customers and 3 staff who tried their hardest, We stayed at the St Moritz hotel a week earlier. It is also an Accor hotel, but MGallery branding. It surpassed the Sofitel in all aspects and is a credit to the brand, whilst being about 1/3 of the room rate.

Bonjour Tony Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at Sofitel Queenstown. As the Operations Manager, I appreciate your honest review, and I would like to address your concerns. Firstly, I apologise for any inconvenience caused by the ongoing light maintenance in our building. We understand that the smell of paint in the corridors can be unpleasant. We make every effort to minimize any disruption caused by maintenance work. Regarding the air conditioning replacement, we apologise for any disturbance caused by the fan heater in your room, I do note that you never made mention of this during your stay. If we knew that there was an issue, we would of strived to ensure a replacement was made available. Please know that your feedback will be shared with our maintenance team to address this issue promptly. I'm sorry to hear that you found our restaurant options limited during your stay. Le Salon Rouge offers the popular grazing style menu that the majority of people expect and enjoy, it is indeed a different dining experience compared to your expectations, but it is well advertised showcasing that it is indeed a grazing style restaurant / bar. Lastly, I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at St Moritz hotel. While both hotels belong to the Accor family, each property has its unique characteristics and pricing structures. We appreciate your comparison, and we will take your feedback into account as we constantly strive to enhance our offerings and provide value to our guests. Once again, I apologize for the shortcomings you experienced during your stay. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we continuously work towards improving our services and maintaining the high standards associated with the Sofitel brand. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with an exceptional stay that truly reflects the Sofitel experience. Warm regards, Philip Riley Operations Manager

The Sofitel Queenstown is well located and an easy walk to the lake area and restaurants. Reception staff were all very helpful and obliging as were the staff cleaning the rooms daily. Staff in The Left Bank Bistro are definitely to be commended on their breakfast service. So nice to be greeted each morning by smiling faces and staff who want to give excellent service. The breakfast buffet and cooked meals were very good. Jaypee in Le Salon Rouge makes excellent cocktails and this bar/dining area had a lovely atmosphere and I would highly recommend. Feel it might be time for the beds in hotel to be checked/replaced. Highly recommend the Jervois Steak House restaurant located within the hotel building although not part of the Sofitel. Most enjoyable stay at the Sofitel Queenstown.

We were incredibly fortunate to book in and have our very first Le Goûter experience, at Le Salon Rouge, in The Sofitel, Queenstown. It was an Afternoon Tea like no other that we've ever experienced before. It was very romantic, an afternoon tea in a gorgeous elegant setting with relaxing speakeasy-style music softly playing in the background. The presentation was such a special surprise, with us each being delivered a book filled with decadent French treats. My book was from Paris, and my husband's was from New York. Inside the books were bite-sized delicious morsels that had been perfectly hand crafted by Sous Chef Imogen Liao. Each item is made on-site and was created with absolute precision! If you're ever in Queenstown, this is an experience not to be missed. Unlike many other Afternoon Teas in Hotels, this is affordable, and is such a fun, and very French experience to enjoy with your loved one, or a friend. I have been to several Afternoon Teas and High Teas across the world and can say without question that I have never experienced one like this before. This is definitely unique, I have never been surprised like I was in this one. The freshness and attention to detail were absolutely second to none. This is a memory that we will treasure forever. We have included photos from this wonderful experience so that you can get a true picture of what we are talking about. Please enjoy.

I'm a Diamond ACCOR member and had planned to stay two non-consecutive nights here while we hiked the 3-day Routeburn Track. I had to cancel our stays and go to the Crowne Plaza after I asked the Sofitel ahead of our stay to confirm they would hold our bags while we hiked. They would not. Disappointed.

We had a fantastic experience with Emily at check in. The location is ideal right across from Fergburger and can walk around town and the lake v easily and across from the gondolas. Thanks for our 35th anniversary treats! The buffet breakfast is an absolute must and we didn’t need to have anything until evening coffee. The servers at the breakfast area are wonderful, the smoothies, pastries, baked beans, made to order eggs, various coffees, lattes, avocado, hash brown- not to be missed. My husband gave them a generous tip and they were so happy. We did prepay for the parking which was convenient, and we did pay a premium to stay here, but so worth it and loved the heated flooring in the room, which was not v well lit but we just came back to sleep and was fine with us.
