We arrived to check in and it took ages due to huge queues and not enough staff on. The lift smelt extremely bad of metal or as something had died. We got to our room which smelt like smoke and had no window or ventilation,...More
Probably the worst hostel I've stayed in in Queenstown, I would only stay again at very last resort. Staff were nice but the hostel clearly prioritises quantity over quality. It's 3 floors of rooms cramped together. The kitchen facilities were average at best and wasn't...More
The base hostel was a great place to stay in New Zealand, right on the strip of Queenstown, walking distance to everything from shops, restaurants and snowboard shops/bus pick ups to the mountains.

Hi Richard, in the 4 bed dorm there is no under bed storage as these are no longer bunk rooms. We have a luggage storage at reception or there in ample space in the room for your ski bag, just no locker. The lockers in our dorm rooms wouldnt be long enough to fit them either. We also have a dry room, which is perfect for your boots and jackets/gloves etc :)
Thanks, Darelle Jenkins.
