If you are looking for a clean, modern and self-contained apartment in the heart of Queenstown with fantastic views, then the Whistler Holiday Apartments could be the place for you. Rated 4 stars by Qualmark, our apartments are warm, private and within close walking distance for you to explore all of Queenstown’s great attractions. We are a five minute walk from the local supermarket Fresh Choice, five minutes from the Skyline Gondola and around ten minutes from the Lake Front. All of our apartments have a “walk out” balcony so that you can enjoy the fresh clean air of Queenstown and take in the stunning views of the mountains, gondola and paragliders. We provide a great base from which you can explore Milford Sound, the Fiordland National Park and the more general Southern Lakes region. Situated close to the Remarkables slopes, Coronet and Cardrona, we also offer a great location for any keen skiers and snow boarders looking to explore the slopes.

The one - bedroom suite faced the road, which meant the balcony was noisy, but we did have a good view of the mountains. The suite's kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Really appeciated the dishwasher, the washer and dryer for clothes. The bed was not comfortable (for me; everyone is different). The staff especially Iquan (not sure how to spell this, my apologies) were extremely helpful and friendly. If you have a car (it is essentially, really) shop at the Pak n' Save outside of Queenstown, as the stores and restaurants in Queenstown are horrifically expensive. This apartment complex was also quite expensive but I think everything in Queenstown is expensive.

Booked online with trepidation, hoping that the photo gallery reflected the actual property. Rate was listed at $120 per night and when I clicked book it dropped to $100 per night. When we arrived it looked okay from the roadside. The check in was smooth with a lovely welcoming young woman in reception and then up to the room where WIN it was fantastic. Roomy and I mean roomy. Great lounge kitchen bathroom bedroom washing machine shower. Highly recommended to anyone looking for accommodation and not wanting to pay for a lake view, you can get that everywhere you go when out of the room anyway.

Lovely, clean, modern, comfy, accomm with balcony. Steep walk from car to reception (wise to park near reception & unload car there, then down to carpark) On saying that the reception staff were wonderful, helpful & very informative on where to go & things to do. Highly recommend staying here. Easy 3min walk to town centre & 5-10mins walk to Gondola for 'Stratosphere Restaurant' ( a Definite must do with a Booking weeks in advance highly recommended ) & Luge. Great 3day stay at Whistler. Would return. Thanks.

The price is very high for what you get:

NEGATIVE - coffee table in bad state of repair, coffee and tea etc not always replaced (even though you can ask for me, this is a hassle while on holiday), bathroom floor showed signs of being cleaned with a dirty cloth (brown streaks), the shower floor was slippery (not safe), carpet and decor needs updating, not comfy sitting on tiny stools at the small dining table.

POSITIVE - good view of the mountains from the sunny balcony, bed comfy, no obvious outdoor noise at night, free and safe car park under cover, friendly staff, good service, nice kitchenette with all you need for a short stay, washing machine and drying rack a bonus, loved the recycle bin as well as rubbish bin (big plus!), good size fridge, easy to warm up with heat pump or wall heater, 5 minute easy walk to the city centre.

Would definitely come here again but would hope for a few updates - cheaper rates if not.

Stayed 3 nights in a lovely unit that had a comfortable bed, fully-equiped kitchen that included an oven and a fridge with a large freezer. It is located a close walking distance to the town centre and supermarkets.

Our unit had a view of the gondola and close to the paragliding landing spot.

The compendium not only had detailed instructions about how to operate the oven, hob, microwave oven, etc, but tips about where to shop for groceries, and where to avoid.

Great friendly and helpful staff.

Will stay here agin when we return for another adventure.

I’m not a fussy person, and have stayed in everything from hostels/backpackers to 5 star hotels, but this place is very average.
During the day the road directly outside is very busy and noisy, you need to close the glass sliding door to the lounge to be able to hear the TV. The entrance/hall/bedroom at the back are very dark. Suggest some higher wattage bulbs all round. The toilet in the bathroom prior to use had a ‘urinal’ smell about it. There was huge amounts of dust behind the bed (where I found the socket for my phone charger) and under the bedside table. Generally the place needs a decent vacuum/dust and bathroom needs a decent clean.

Very convenient location, short walk to Queenstown city. Room were clean, bed was great too and it is quite spacious in the living room.

There’s washer provided in the room and dryer available with minimum price.

Overall, we enjoyed our room.

We (2 adults, a 12 and 14 year old) enjoyed a wonderful 10 night stay at Whistler Apartments in early July. We loved the location as it was close to everything! - the centre of town, the snow centre (where we needed to pick up snow gear), the Gondola, and supermarkets. Being from Perth WA, we especially enjoyed the heated flooring in the bathroom and the heated towel rack. The ability to leave our ski gear in the warm washroom was also great. To have a washing machine in the room was an added bonus. The dryer came in handy on a few occasions too. The apartment was warm and cosy. The only suggestion we'd have is to add a hook or two in the entrance. Staff were always available to help out/answer questions and they even stored one of our large suitcases for us. Thank you Whistler!

We arrived early and the manager came down and helped us with a parking space. We went for a walk around Queenstown and came back at check in time. The manager, Naj, even helped us with our bags. The staff were all lovely and the apartment was very nice and well appointed. The bedroom was at the back, away from the road, which could be noisy at times.
The young man who tended to the gardens and bins and towels (!) was a hard worker and delightful to chat with.

I could have happily stayed another week. When we left, we could only find the lady on reception to say goodbye to. So goodbye Naj, and thank you for your kindness and goodbye to the young man ( I apologise for not knowing your name). Hopefully the picture will stay upright from now on!

We stayed for 3 nights in a 1 bedroom apartment and couldn't have chosen a better place.! It was only minutes walk to the hub of Queenstown, was clean and had everything we needed for a few days stay. The bed was super comfortable and even though our room was facing the road, the bedroom was at the back so didn't hear traffic. Also had great view of the mountains and gondola. Plenty of under cover parking was a bonus. Will definitely be back!!

Do both bedrooms in the two-bedroom apt have a window?
Answer from CJC
Gold Coast, Australia37 contributions5 helpful votes
Not sure we had one bedroom with a queen bed and a small bed with a very small window. Room was big though. Living area off the balcony was roomy as well and bright because of the sliding glass window.

Hello there. We were there in NZ spring so I wasn't paying much attention to the heating. I think there was an electric heater in the bedroom, I know there was one in the living room because I turned it off. The bathroom has a heated floor and big heated towel rail which is great for drying outdoors clothing. The room we stayed in had one double bed, so it may be they have different room types available. You could drop them an email about the beds. I contacted them a few times before we got the NZ to ask about parking and other travel stuff - they were always quick and helpful at replying.

Ground floor Ocean front rooms, do they have a view or blocked by trees?
Answer from
Kaiapoi, New Zealand136 helpful votes
There is no ocean anywhere near Queenstown. Don't know where you got that from. Ground floor is car parking underneath the units, no unit is on ground floor, all units are first floor or 2nd floor. It does not have spectacular views but still is very nice view. It is facing a main road but that road is quiet at night. Big plus, walking distance into town where there is no parking basically. - If you like the answer, please give it a Helpful tick - thank you.
