We loved Queenstown and this location was majestic. All the staff were really lovely, although some were quite inexperienced for a fine dining restaurant. Being short staffed affected the provision of services including having food available for dine in or room service on a Monday and Tuesday evening, which was 2 of our 4 night stay. This was inconvenient and below par for a hotel of this standard and price. Also the room wasn’t fully serviced unless specifically requested. We understand and sympathise that staffing is an issue everywhere currently, but to maintain the level of service and reputation associated with this hotel, and to provide the expected services for the customers, perhaps only consider bookings per ratio of the staff available ( if this is even possible) All staff were really friendly, professional and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay Thank you

Well located on the hill overlooking Queenstown with a spectacular view across Lake Whakatipu. Easy drive into town and a nice walk down the hill. Well appointed and generously sized rooms. Lovely and warm with fireplaces in seating areas in the lounge. Was let down by the staff who were not as attentive as expected.

Dear Cheryl, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a complimentary review of our hotel. We are so delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. It is always disappointing to get feedback that is not positive and we apologize that your experience was not as we would always want it to be. we are like most businesses at the moment, we have suffered from times when staff shortages due to illness - whether by the seasonal flu that is sweeping through or from COVID. We try to ensure that this does not end up impacting our guests and we do not wish to make this our guest’s problem. There are however times that even with our best endeavors there are times when business levels become too much for the team that we have. I don't share this to make excuses and we sincerely apologize that in your case we did not get things right. Many other reviews are very positive and understanding and we are generally proud of the team that we have managed to put together. The future is not without challenges but we hope that the worst is now behind us. Please let me know when you have plans to visit us again and our team will look forward to welcoming you back and ensuring a memorable stay experience. Warm regards, Mohamed Moustafa Front Office Manager

Good views. Comfortable bed. The bathroom doesn’t have a heater and can be quite cold in the morning or after shower. No heated towel rails as well but towels are thick and warm. Just doesn’t dry if you don’t want it changed. We stayed in the first room and can hear people using the stairs and can also hear the person making coffee at the restaurant. Overall, good service from the staff.

Everything was very good but i would recommend to put extra care in cleaning rooms. Our bathroom was not cleaned properly since it wasn’t in our way it didn’t bothered us as much just for future reference. Otherwise the stay was good. Thanks

Dear Shaheennisha, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a complimentary review of our hotel. We are so delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. Sorry for the inconvenience about the room, not being clean properly, we do have an amazing housekeeping team and they are doing great, however still under training. You will be aware that we have gone from being quiet for 2.5 years and losing around half our staff to having to employ a lot of new staff - many of whom do not have the skills that we had previously with a team that had good tenure. Training 20 new staff does take time and a lot of effort but we are getting there - it just happens to have coincided with a large increase in business. Thank you for the feedback and I will share it with the management team during the operation meetings. We look forward to welcoming you back during your next trip to Queenstown. Best regards, Mohamed Moustafa

Spectacular view within good distance of town. Be close to town without being in the hussle and bussle of the tourist traffic. Beautiful easy 20 min walk through the trail into town (definitely more exertion required on the way home) $19-$20 in a cab.

It's a really good place to stay at in Queenstown, with the main town just a few mins drive away. Nice view of The Remarkables and the lake too. The room was spacious and clean, nice amenities. Included Alexa and a Nespresso machine with 4 pods as well. I woke up around midnight, not sure why but I did and when I went to the toilet the power and wifi seemed to be turned off for hours! the only thing I'd complain about is how FREEZING the bathroom floors are. My personal bathroom and other hotel bathrooms I've stayed at are not this freezing at all!

Loved our stay - rooms were excellent, staff were very friendly and helpful and the view from the main restaurant was amazing. Food was great too! We travelled with a baby and without a car so our only issue was that the food and beverages weren't available at all times on site so we had to taxi into town occasionally for an alternative.

Dear Climber08281811616, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a kind and positive review with us about your recent stay here! We are so glad that from start to finish, our location, services, staff, and facilities made for such a memorable experience. Sorry about the inconvenience of the size of the room and soft bed, however, we have a lovely housekeeping team if you let us know about the soft bed, they can remove the topper to make it hard for you Regarding the microwave unfortunate we don`t have it in the room but guests most welcome to the reception and we can warm up the food for guest free of charge and provide them cutlery if you need it. We look forward to seeing you back again soon. With kind regards, Mohamed Moustafa
