The Waterfront is centrally located just a short stroll from all the action of downtown Queenstown, and unlike many other resorts is situated on the same level as the lake. The Waterfront provides spacious one, two and three bedroom apartments right on the waters edge of Lake Wakatipu. With modern furnishings, apartments provide comfortable accommodation to suite all occasions. All rooms are self contained with full kitchens and laundries, heating, DVD & stereo system, iron and ironing board, in-house movies, intercom, Sky TV and security system. Penthouse guests have the added comfort of there own rooftop terrace and BBQ. From your lakefront facing balcony you can watch the famous TSS Earnslaw head out from the nearby Steamer Wharf on its daily journey across the lake. For those feeling energetic, take a walk around the lakes edge fringed with weeping willows and pine trees. Whether you are visiting in winter for action on the slopes, or to enjoy the many summer activities, The Waterfront is perfect for couples, families and groups alike.

My husband, 3 year old son and I stayed at The Waterfront, Queenstown for 6 nights. First impression was fabulous! View from balcony couldn't have been better, it was super clean and although the furniture and decor was older, it was comfortable and so homely. The wifi was ultra fast and reliable and the kitchen was stocked with good amounts of cutlery and crockery. We also loved the close location to the steam wharf and the centre of town. After a few nights we realised the street was a busy one with traffic and early street sweapers (out of the hotels hands) and also that you hear a lot of noise from the above apartment. This would probably be nothing major except we had hyperactive neighbours who sounded like they were moving furniture and running a restaurant above us! I would have also liked more heating options. We had only panel heaters in our apartment and while they took the edge off, it wasn't the warmest place to be in Queenstown! Overall a lovely visit.

Highly recommend this for a holiday. Lovely staff - rooms are clean and tidy. Stayed for 6 days middle of winter and the fireplace was the best. Short walk to town and shop a 3min walk away. Amazing views and undercover parking. we will be back

We had a wonderful 6 night stay in one of the 2 bedroom apartments. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartment (10) had been renovated recently and was spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with 2 small children. The view over the lake is stunning - although there is quite a bit of traffic noise as it is located on the main road. The upside is that the central location means you can walk everywhere and don't have to worry about getting into town. I would recommend the hotel to anyone travelling with children who wants a self contained and spacious apartment.

Location was perfect however although a makeover has been attempted it fails in a lot of areas. The biggest downfall would have to be the miserable old lady who works in reception of a day goes out of her way to Avoid eye contact and never say hello or asks if you need anything. Customer service is everything...

Looking at other reviews of this location there seems to be a mixed bag in the quality of apartments. We had Unit 5, a 2 bedroom on the 4th floor. Everything in the apartment seem to be original/ 20+ years old except for the TV and dishwasher. The net curtains are shabby and let a lot of heat out, plus don’t give any privacy at night. The aluminium doors and windows late anda lot of road noise, but the layout is pretty good with the bedrooms at the back of the property so you get a reasonable sleep. The security of the complex was surprisingly low. The basement garage is open all the time and the lift does not require any swipe card or key to operate, so anyone walking past could come in and get into the hallway areas of the building. The key to the apartment is just a very standard house key without any special markings, so would be easy ti get a copy at the local hardware store. There was no chain or bolts to secure the door from the inside at night. This aspect is very surprising for a $400+ /night facility. The location is great, but I’d prefer to stay elsewhere next time.

Hi, Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that you had a good sleep in your apartment. Regarding the security, the garage door can only be open with a keypad, the entrance door is only open when someone is at the reception to monitor guests walking in and out. Plus, you cannot open the apartments' doors without a key.
