Built around Queenstown’s original dairy dating back to the 1920s, this boutique hotel offers exquisite rooms featuring botanical themed wallpapers from House of Hackney (a first in New Zealand) set against the backdrop of the picturesque views of The Remarkables mountain range and Lake Wakatipu. Immerse yourself in a private home away from home – unwind in our sumptuous lounge where complimentary drinks are served nightly between 5pm-6pm, curl up in our private library or take in the stunning beauty of the landscape in our outdoor jacuzzi. Location really does dazzle with the hotel just moments away from the buzz of the city centre.

What an amazing small hotel. Unique does not even begin to say how WOW this place is. From the moment you step through the door it brings a smile to you face, its unique décor, its warm and feeling of cosiness gives you a real feeling of luxury. Maria the host is amazing, helpful, caring and makes your stay even better. Each even at 4 there is wine, soft drinks, nibbles available at no cost. The room was large and comfortable with a great view of the remarkable. Breakfast was simple but delicious. The hotel is within moments of town, restaurants, and shops. All in all I highly recommend The Dairy Private Hotel we 100% will be back next time we are in Queenstown.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary and stayed at the Dairy. We were treated like family and enjoyed spending the mornings dining and talking with our hostess. The place was clean and had a fun look and feel. There were always nice refreshments available and the place was very tidy. It is near all the shops and restaurants, which made walking quite easy as well. Overall we had a lovely experience there and look forward to visiting again.

This eclectically decorated boutique hotel was a lucky find. Maria greatest us with a glass of bubbly in the communal lounge with the fire roaring and relaxing music playing. We sat and talked for 15 minutes before we went up to our room. A walk down the steps took us to the middle of town to all the shops, eateries and booking offices. We could use the lounge or library at any time. There were even jars of sweets for the taking and breakfast if we wanted to book in. I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel.

We have a wonderful stay at the Dairy! Fantastic warm welcome. Very helpful and accommodating staff. Lovely room with a lovely view of the mountains. Funky decor. If you are sick or the same old same old hotel rooms come and check this place out. We would stay here again!

The Dairy is under new ownership, it has always been our favourite place to stay. It is still in a great location and the staff are nice. We were in one of the top rooms and it is big and warm, albeit with a small bathroom. What’s gone downhill: No more brilliant cooked breakfast, although there’s a good place across the road. A Scottish, goth on acid has redesigned inside. Each to their own but the freaky dark wall paper on the roof makes the place dark. The drying and storage room is gone and we’re in a ski town. No Sky and so no sport available on TV Will stay somewhere else next time
