Amazing view, wonderful food and lovely staff helped make this a perfect stay. Loved our suite which was very spacious and beautifully decorated, and the view cannot disappoint with the lounge area & bathroom having uninterrupted views across the lake. The highlight for us however were the dinners. Amazing 5 course tasting menus with matching wines, specially chosen by the...

We stayed a year ago April and this place was stunning. On prior trips to NZ we'd stayed at other luxury lodges in the area, Blanket Bay being the most notable. We couldn't go to BB this time since we had our son in tow. How Matakauri didn't disappoint and I had high expectations given I was comparing this to...

This was the third of the sister properties we stayed in and it was stunning. The rooms have an amazing view over the lake. The service was excellent - the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were included in our rate and all were very good. The selection of fruit at breakfast was the best of...

Truly an experience as dining here is reserved for in-house guests. If you are fortunate to get to dine here, as we were with friends from Melbourne, you won't be disappointed. The location is amazing as is the ambience. Welcoming and friendly staff greet you and offer you drinks and canapés. Dinner follows with a choice of a la carte...

This was the last Lodge in which we stayed in New Zealand and is in competition for the best. Beautifully located on the lake, fabulous views from the rooms and public areas, amazing food and incredibly friendly and professional staff who went out of their way to assist.

Probably the best hotel in Queenstown. Obviously not cheap but we all deserve to be spoilt! The most beautiful rooms, romantic, spacious, loads of light and the most amazing view of the lake. Delicious dinners every night with a choice between a la carte or tasting menus. Also, very very good spa treatments.

This hotel has the finest view of any place. Sitting in our room overlooking the lake and the mountain ranges I am sure the LORD OF THE RINGS was made. This is an all inclusive....breakfast and dinner. The food is excellent and service supreme

This Lodge was one of my favorites on the this trip. I loved waking up every morning overlooking the lake and the mountains. It was breathtaking. The rooms were over the top and very cool. The staff is beyond helpful. They were all wonderful and if there is anything you wanted, they made it happen.

“Perfect, very clean, comfortable and well organised. Sheets, linen and toiletries were great quality. I would suggest that rather than have alcohol to buy small bottles should be supplied such as gin, vodka, scotch and the balance if required purchase. Complimentary alcohol in small quantity would be nice. ”
