    Excellent alternative
Having rejected the Dairy ‘Boutique’ hotel, our travel agent managed to transfer us to the St Moritz for 4 nights and our experience was largely favourable. We had a suite on the 6th floor which was spacious, quiet, impeccably looked after although the window (with great lake views) was on the small side. The service was generally good, the buffet breakfast ample and tasty, with superb cakes, and daily newspapers, a hot tub in the garden, and a location close to town made for an enjoyable stay. We did have a few quibbles. Yes the walk back from town is steep, the lower rooms could be obstructed by buildings in front, and you do not want to be on the rear of the building which simply has a wall view. The hotel entrance, down a dark walled driveway, is unprepossessing, and we never worked out why a few guests were offered waitress service for breakfast with a menu we never saw. Not that it mattered!
Dear Nick051, thank you for your review. I'm delighted to read you had an enjoyable stay, from the Lakeview’s, to our breakfast offering, and the facilities on offer. I'm so sorry the impression given over breakfast, I can only assume the guests with a menu opted for the A La Carte offering over the Full Buffet Breakfast (often pre-arranged) I hope you enjoyed the complimentary cab service from town, and indeed the Lakeview rooms are our most popular and first to sell out. I do sincerely hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back. Kind regards, Marina Silva, Operations Manager

Very comfortable and great views of the lake and mountain
Room 333 was spacious and very comfortable. Loved the 'pillow menu' and the bed was terrific. Big walk in shower and all the various goodies including a well stocked mini bar (not used) and bath robes (not touched).Day one afforded a snack in the evening of a bottled beer ($9) and a plate of cerviche ($12). Only minor niggle was the over crowded breakfast and terrible coffee quality which did not dent the overall excellent impression. The walk down into town is a steep hill so take care (and time) on the return trip.

    Great rooms and great view
Omg what a lovely hotel. Rooms are big and well served but the views!!! Omg!!!!! The lake, the mountains and the rain!! Ignore the rain comment we were unlucky. The restaurant and common areas of the hotel are really well furnished and it all felt really comfortable. Only down side was car parking charge $35 pn!!!!
Dear nannyboy, thank you for your wonderful review and top rating. I'm thrilled you enjoyed the comfort of your room and the unrestricted Lake and mountain views. Our interior designers vision was to create a cocooning experience so I’m glad you enjoyed all of our spaces, and watching the rain over the mountains is quite magical. You may have experienced the limited parking in downtown Queenstown, I can assure you the fee which includes valet service and bottled water is competitive with other 5 star hotels located in the centre of town. I look forward to welcome you back to another memorable stay. Kind regards, Marina Silva, Operations Manager

An Accor Hotel, as premium members, were were a little disappointed with their lack of attention to detail. Every other high quality hotel we have stayed with in the Accor group have been able to pay attention to the details and made us feel exceptionally welcome.

From my first interaction with the staff before our visit, until our checkout , the staff were helpful, friendly and could not do enough for us to make our stay enjoyable. I am sure this has to do with the amazing Jo, General Manager and Karen. Our room on the 6th floor had breathtaking views. Our 1 bedroom suite was everything we could have asked for and more. Loved the pillow menu and your lavender pillow. Loved the bath menu on offer as well. Bed was super comfortable. Loved that there was a second TV in the bedroom. Also loved the special gift from Jo, the GM, in the form of a tote bag. What a thoughtful gift and it was something I used everyday, left my own handbag in the room. The fireplace and lounge seating area in the foyer was another area we used. The dining area also had the most incredible views, and I would go as far as saying, one of the best views in Queenstown, hence we ate there 3 nights out of the 6. Do not be put off by the walk up the hill, it is well worth it for the views. Paul and I loved this place and would stay again.

A great spot approx 700 m from the centre of town. Easy walking distance to everything which is very important in Queenstown. The last 200 m is pretty steep but worth the effort. Stayed in a one bedroom suite which looked out over the lake and would highly reccommend. We extended our stay for a few nights and the team were able to accommodate this even though it was a busy time. The restaurant is great for breakfast with a full buffet and chef on hand to cook your omelete as required. We did not eat here for dinner as there were so many fantastic spots only a few hundred metres away. Would definitely reccommend to have a lake front room - would be pretty

Lovely Hotel nice & handy to town. We did a tour leaving at 6.30am one morning & the hotel packed us a delicious breakfast box to go. The rooms are spacious & bed was super comfy. Would differently stay here again.

Beautiful hotel in Queenstown. The room (lake view balcony) was lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was one the of best breakfast buffets I've had and the restaurant (also a nice bar there) has a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. The only thing I could fault with this hotel is that the only entrance has a set of stairs to reception that you must lift your bags up and down when you arrive and leave - and no one to help with your bags. That aspect was surely not a five star experience. However, a beautiful hotel and great service and amenities. Highly recommend.

A beautiful room - great view of the lake, comfortable bed and pillows, great bathroom, hotel reception and bar very atmospheric. Gym was also very user friendly and well equipped. Very close to everything in Queenstown. Slight problem walking up steep hill every time returning from town - but good for walking off some of the calories consumed. Overall a lovely place to stay.

Paradise in the Southern Alps with incredible views of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu, and the Remarkables mountain range. The hotel has a rustic feel yet at the same time very elegant and everything beautifully appointed. Loved our room overlooking the lake and the comfortable seating to enjoy the view. Everything was spotless and comfortable. I would so definitely stay here again.
