We stay in Dunedin a bit, and to find somewhere not too expensive is a nice bonus. Clean, everything provided, modern. If you don't need to be in the city, I recommend this place. (and have been!) (and it's a quick drive into the city)
We stayed here for one night last weekend. The room was comfortable and friendly service. New amenities and lovely clean bathroom. Only criticism is there was clothing left in a draw. Nice and quiet place to stay.
We stayed for 6 days and thought it was a great place. Modern, stylish, comfortable and everything you need. Close to the centre of Dunedin and places to eat nearby. There is also a lovely little village at the top of the hill on the way into the city on the right.
We arrived late on around teatime the lady in reception was very helpful we went to our studio apartment my wife was not very impressed with the yellow covers on the beds and you couldnt swing a cat in it but it was clean but cramped.
A little off the beaten track in the suburbs of Dunedin but it's not a large city so once you had familiarised yourself with the city's steep and winding streets, access by car to the town centre was relatively straight forward ( as long as you ignored the GPS which insisted on some convoluted route!) Our apartment was very comfortable and modern in a building shell certainly older than the interior. The area was nice and quiet and no traffic noise but we did experience a very industrious neighbour 2 houses up the street who found it necessary to use a motorised trimmer on his sculptured bushes 2 days in a row! The complex of apartments is on 2 separate blocks (sections if you're from NZ) within the same street and we were in the ones higher up the street, with vehicle access and separate egress along 2 narrow driveways. We had a large vehicle for 5 adults and parking for our designated parking space (#14) was far from simple, requiring some skillful manouvreing on my behalf if I can say so! Management was very helpful, replacing our faulty television without question or delay, not that we actually watched it! We were a bit disappointed there was no bbq facility within the complex as we were really looking forward to some bbq lamb chops, something the Canadian side of our family has very limited access to!…
