The view from our room was stunning; it was definitely the best view I have had from any hotel room. Our room was comfortable and a bit quirky-all the rooms are themed and are all different. If you stay here you have free access to the castle and grounds. Breakfast is included-you eat in the stables opposite the lodge and in...

The only castle in NZ is worth a visit and worth a stay. The location high on a hill affords amazing views of the Otago Peninsula. Definitely worth exploring both the inside of the castle and the gorgeous, well-kept grounds. The rooms in the Lodge are comfortable with great views and breakfast was good. The location is also great for...

We visited Larnarch Castle in December 2016. The coolness of the day did not detract from the magnificent views of Port Chalmers Harbour. The interesting history of the castle to the present day is told by one of the many tour guides, dressed in traditional scottish clothes. As a gardener I was delighted at the manicured lawns and the alignment and...

My wife and I stayed for two nights in a upper lodge corner room with a panoramic views of the Octago Peninsular .The room was lovely with a comfortable bed, although the bathroom had no storage space. We had a good cooked English breakfast in the stables. We asked for and received a comprehensive breakfast tray as we had to leave...

Beautiful gardens well maintained and presented. The Castle is steeped in history and has a diverse range of touring options. I visited for the afternoon, well worth putting a few hours aside and not to rush the visit.

lARNACH cASTLE HAS BUILT A LODGE OF THE HIGHEST QUA;ITY, the rooms are spacious, airy beautifully furnished and have magnificent views. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. We ate dinner in the castle dining room, a grand old room with period features. The food was top notch, beautifully served by nice young...

Lovely house, not quite a castle though. The owners have done a wonderful job restoring it. They have worked so hard and I commend them. Love reading about its history and great to watch a short video including up to date information. Definitely recommend visiting this place, make sure you have a few hours to spend as the gardens are...

Had a wonderful time at the castle. Wonderful for kids with lawn games, and the small hikes in the gardens kept my 9 and 7 year old busy for hours! Didnt love the stable family room---good for a night perhaps. Low ceilings, dated shared shower facility, and cant fully open shutters so very dark. But good breakfast in the main...

Lovely service, lovely atmosphere. Just watch your head on the roof if you are of average height. My kids enjoyed exploring the grounds at night but unfortunately the weather stopped anything the next day. Our breakfast was amazing and it was a real treat for everyone.
