Highbrae Guesthouse is a glorious old style pile, with an eclectic collection of antiques. The couple who run the place live next door; they provided us all kind of advice and suggestions. We stayed two nights in the large suite in the back upstairs with the laundry and kitchen facilities. They had upgraded the wifi in this space with a...

All you could want with comfortable surroundings. Only a couple of minutes to the city centre, or nip up the road to some handy eateries. The wife and I spent two relaxing days here and would gladly recommend it to anyone wanting quality accommodation. As a bonus Stephen is also a local historian, tour guide, weatherman, and a gentleman to...

We really struggled to find anywhere to stay in Dunedin so we were very happy to find this place still had a room left! The man who greeted us was very friendly and gave us lots of advice. We took the en-suite room with a kitchen and washing machine built in. When the owner was showing us around he kept...

Great rooms and a very kind and helpful host. We could really use the big amount of Internet data available and it was the most comfortable bed we slept in. The room has a very nice atmosphere and the bathroom feels luxurious.

Gorgeous B & B with a fabulously friendly host who was happy to share his extraordinary knowledge of the history of Dunedin and point us in the right direction. He also makes the best scrambled eggs I have ever tasted. Care to share the recipe Stephen? Room was lovely and comfortable, very clean and a pleasure to stay in. I...

Thank you for the lovely review Carolynne. No I don't recall any clothing other than a sock perhaps? Regarding scrambled eggs, we are always willing to share recipes, but my Kiwi friends will say, "that's just how my mother and grandmother made it!" A little bit of butter, a little bit of milk, 4 eggs beaten into a pot. Add...

Charming Victorian home hosted by warm hosts Stephen and Fiene. The house is large, offering good sized rooms and a comfy bed. This is not a modern house as it has the original Victorian features, but the hosts are very helpful and welcoming. Good value for money.

The B & B is located just at the edge of the city centre. It's surprisingly quiet at night. The room is spacious, warm and comfortable. The furnishings match the house very well. Every detail has been attended. It's like you have travelled back to the beginning of 19th century. Stephen the host is very kind and accommodating and considerate....

This turn of the century styled B&B is charming in and out, with rooms and common areas nicely decorated. The beds/bedding are very comfortable with an electric blanket for those cold nights. Rooms in general were on the cold side since they seem to be heated by space heaters only. Breakfast was included, and the selection (fruit, cereal, yogurt, bread/toast,...

Stephen and his wife, Fienie were very warm and welcoming. Stephen was always helpful, giving us tidbits of things to see and places to go and sharing maps so we could get there too.
