We were there four nights, and the place was lovely. Beautiful house, perfect croissants and manuka honey in the morning, and Martine and Bruce were terrific hosts! Bruce, I still need to talk to my "people" about solar energy tariffs! Christchurch is an inspiring city, and this place and its hosts are three reasons why.

We planned to have long walks along the beach however the weather did not play ball. I was impressed with the attention to detail in this B&B. Very friendly welcome and the breakfast was superb. More Paris than Paris. The rooms at the front can be a little noisy at peak times but C'est la ve.

This was a great place to stay for our first night in NZ. Arriving into Christchurch it was only a short 40 mins or so drive. Sumner is a lovely seaside town with a fair selection of bars, cafe's and restaurants to choose from. Bruce, Marrian and their cute Scottie dog offered us a warm welcome and comfy and clean...

Dear Tim, Thanks for your kind comments regarding your stay with us, in Le Petit Hotel, Sumner. I guess external noise is always going to be a subjective thing for different guests, and Martine & I are happy to have your positive feedback. We consider ourselves lucky to be situated close both to the beach and to a full range...

What a fantastic little cosy place run by Bruce and Martine, who by the way serves hands down the best croissants I ever had for breakfast. The property is located approximately 50m from the beach and you have walking access to basically all restaurants and bars in Sumner. Our room was perfectly clean and our whole stay was just fabulous!...

It was our last night in New Zealand before continuing our holiday in Australia, and unfortunately we made a bad choice of staying at the Le Petit Hotel. The hotel is located quite far from the Christchurch centre and on a very busy main road in Sumner, a suburb of Christchurch. Even with the windows closed we had a sleepless...

Dear Irena, We appreciate all reviews and as you may have noticed, as a rule our guests leave us, more than happy to have stayed with us, and also having been delighted in respect of Sumner, the village being the premier seaside suburb of Christchurch , where the local restaurants all within 3 mins walk from Le Petit Hotel, can...

had a very good time there for the last two mights of my stay in NZ. nicely decorated room with lots of thought given to detail and the breakfast is a real treat with the french Croissant and freshly pressed orange juice among the offering. We were welcomed warmly. A beautiful Hotel. First class rooms and facilities.Tasteful decor throughout. Our hosts were caring and attentive without being intrusive. The continental breakfast was great especially the homemade croissants and fresh coffee. The local eateries are outstanding and the beach is so close, enjoyed the walks immensely. I am looking forward to returning soon.

We chose this hotel due to its location by the beach. We were not allocated the downstairs room as booked and were instead provided with an upstairs room with balcony and sea view, which was apparently an upgrade. This room, however overlooks the main road and suffers from traffic noise at certain times. The room itself was clean and pleasant,...

Dear Amanda...firstly we thank you for your review.. as all comments are generally helpful to us. As a rule, we find most of our guests do appreciate a room with a balcony & sea view if it is at all possible, and it is the request we most often receive here, during the booking process. Currently we are upgrading all...
