Have been to many motels in Christchurch over the past four years during my business visits and none come close to Merivale Manor. It's like a home away from home. Great staff and the owners treat you like long lost friends. Highly recommended.

Many thanks for the warm welcome. Really appreciated your flexibility on the late check out. Great location. Enjoyed the suggested dining option at Tutte Bene. Spa bath a treat. Having breakfast options on hand was great. Unexpected but warm and welcome as old and stormy weather when we checked in. Travelled with people from the US. They enjoyed it too.... More

Nice old (1880's?) building just north of Christchurch. Comfortable room and friendly manager! Games room upstairs with books and a few board games for kids. Recommended for small family or stopping through on business

We stayed at Merivale Manor twice in August, both times in one of the three bedroom apartments across the road from the old manor house. The apartment was really well equipped and the beds were super comfy. Also well heated. Breakfast (milk, cereal, bread for toast and butter, jam, etc) was provided free which was a pleasant surprise. Good restaurants... More

We have stayed here three times in the last month or so. It's brilliant. We've stayed in manor suites each time, rather than in the modern motel rooms which are in front of the manor building. We will continue to choose manor rooms. We've only had amazing service. They've upgraded us 2 out of 3 times we've stayed. Beautiful, characterful... More

I spent 3 nights staying in the main manor house. The Te Wepa suite allows you to use the main front door of the manor house leading into your 2 bedroom, fully furnished apartment. You can easily slip into a dream that you're in the Deep South. Everything in the apartment is furnished to a high standard and the decor... More

Stayed twice during our southern circle tour . The property is well placed centrally in town and also boutique . Rooms are old fashioned and big. Facilities are adequate. The merivale mall is very close but do drive out 5 mins to visit northern land mall also within striking distance for variety. Eateries are strewn along the road so you... More

Our last night in NZ was made perfect by staying is this amazing place. My husband and I stayed in the big house and we definitely didn't want to leave. After a week of skiing the bed was a welcome relief providing so much comfort. We felt so welcome and instantly felt at home. All the small details definitely made... More

We stayed in 3 bed apartment, the room was whisper quiet and the beds were really comfortable so great night sleep, it was spotlessly clean, and warm, (love the underfloor heating). Location was fantastic, walking distance to great restaurants and not too far from city centre. Staff were fantastic and the supply of cereal, milk and toast was an added... More
