Our unit was nearest to the road but the double glazing cut out the traffic noise
A good sized studio unit with comfortable double bed. Very well presented an clean.
We were able to walk easily to the Cathedral area of the central city in about 10 minutes. Close to the Casino and a number of restaurants. Would stay here again.

We had the studio next to the road, with our car parked right outside. It was very private, very quiet, in spite of the road being just outside, but double glazing made it quiet. Very comfortable bed, all amenities, very clean and very spacious. Even had a selection of magazines in the room. Our hosts were so friendly and hospitable, offering umbrellas for any rain and shopping bags if needed. It was so handy to cafes, restaurants and within walking distance of town or Merrivale Mall. We will definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Stayed in a one bedroom unit. Matt and Reetah were very welcoming and accommodating. The shuttle service to and back from the hospital was above and beyond my expectations which took the stress out of travelling to the hospital each day. The unit was spotless, serviced daily, everything was there that I needed.
Thank you very much Matt and Reetah

Good location close to restaurants and shops, approx 20-25 minutes from the airport. We had a studio room with a large double bed and a single, both were comfortable. The room was exceptionally large with good facilities and a large bathroom. a continental breakfast of cereal, milk and bread (toaster in the room) was supplied.
We asked for a quite room but unfortunately got the room right next to the road which was quite noisy at times. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

We were a group of two couples. We had a two bedroom unit. There was a double bed and a single in one room and a double and two singles in the other. Could sleep seven so good value for a family. The location is handy and a reasonable walk into the city. A few restaurants not too far down the road. Well equipped with the usuals. The bathroom is small and tired. In need of renovation. Very fight and certainly one person at a time. We would rather pay the small additional cost for two studio units for two couples but would be good value for a family group.

Wife and I stayed here due to my wife having a day operation at nearby St. George's Hospital.
I initially rang to make sure they didn't host MSD/homeless people as many motels are hosting such people with the attached problems making them less desirable for the ordinary punter.
We were reassured they do not and any booking in regard to hospital ops was changeable if things change.
A very clean place, very comfortable couches in the lounge and a comfortable bed.
Would stay here again.

We stayed here for 10 days on our honeymoon. It was absolutely filthy!! The only reason we did not leave was because there was no other motel available for that amount of time due to the Ellerslie flower show being on. The shower had mould in it. The bathroom was not cleaned properly while we were there. There were lots of cobwebs on the ceiling that obviously hadn’t been vacuumed for a while.

On the second day I had to move the couch to plug in my laptop and the amount of dust that was under it was appalling it looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed for months. So we rung up to let them no. They ended up giving us the vacuum cleaner. We vacuumed under the couch and then looked under the other couch and the bed and it was the same. So I went to reception and asked them to come and have a look at it and clean it for us. He came over and finished vacuuming.

We also had a couple of drinks on the third night while we were in the spa pool and a bottle got left on the ground, the cleaner did not pick it up the whole time we stayed there.

When we left they made no attempt at saying sorry.

I would not recommend this to anyone and to be quite honest they ruined out honeymoon. We were wanting a nice clean place to stay for our honeymoon but nothing to fancy due to price restrictions but with paying $150 per night we expected allot better, instead we got a run down dirty motel room.

Response from mattmitch1, owner/manager at Casino Court Motor Lodge
Responded Dec 5, 2009
We were naturally devastated to read such a scathing review of one of our units. We have always operated under the policy of “If you are happy, tell your friends – If not, tell us”. We are on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are available to our guests at any time to rectify any matter that does not meet their expectations. In the rare instances that this occurs, we remedy the problem promptly, render an apology immediately and then usually supply the guest with either a box of chocolates or a bottle of wine thanking them for their understanding. We supply within our units AA guest satisfaction surveys, so that if the guest is not comfortable talking to us directly, they are able to leave us a note telling us what they liked or what we could improve. We have searched our database and have no record of these guests staying with us, we have absolutely no recollection, nor any written record of the litany of complaints allegedly endured by them. We are mystified that anyone would apparently suffer for 10 whole days of their honeymoon without once saying something to us directly. We take comfort in the fact that previous entries praise our motel’s cleanliness and our helpfulness as managers and will now actively encourage our many regular customers to review us within this forum in support of our business.
