This could be a beautiful resort...when renovation completed. But, for now, the hallways and rooms seems dark, dingy and outdated. We got one actual key (not typical key card) between us which made it kind of inconvenient to go in and out at different times. The elevators are small and made for a tight fit if you have a lot... We stayed for a single night here and left with mixed feelings. The hotel itself is well located next to Hagley Park around ten minutes walk from the botanic gardens and fifteen minutes from the CBD and central shopping. The location is also very convenient for walking to the hospital. The hotel is well designed in terms of lovely garden... More

We stayed here two nights and had lovely room with balcony overlooking the swimming pool. Unfortunately it rained both days, so did not get to enjoy the pool. Room was clean and plenty big enough for the two of us. Free internet was good. Would stay here again, as access easy and in good location.

This hotel is currently undergoing a major refurb, and while the hotels own website acknowledge s this, we booked our stay a couple of weeks ago via a well known booking site where no mention was made. We now find ourselves being woken at 7am every morning by noisy building work directly above our room. The hotel bar is also... More

You can't say there is anything wrong with the place, it is comfortable has all the facilities you would expect and service is efficient. Having travelled around for a couple of months in NZ others do it better. It is in Christchurch though and an easy walk into the centre.

We stayed here because we were joining a tour that starts at this hotel on the next night. It is a nice location, across from a beautiful park with a wonderful botanic garden. It is a hike, about a 30 minute walk, into Christchurch, much of which was destroyed by the 2011 earthquake but is gradually being restored. Worth seeing.... More

We stayed a total of 4 nights at le Chateau spread over 2 weeks. The rooms are clean enough, and spacious enough. Rooms at ground level have a small patio with a table and chair which is nice to enjoy an afternoon tea on a summer day. Breakfast is a bit pricy but it is a nice buffet. If you... More

I stayed with my 2 children in a delux twin room for 3 nights. It was spacious, very clean and had lovely views out over the garden. The bathroom was large and spotless. Double beds were very comfy and the pool looked lovely - it rained everyday that we stayed and so we did not use the pool. The reception... More

We stayed here because it was supposed to be away from the building works in the centre of Christchurch. Well it may be away from the centre of Christchurch but it was not quiet. Building works just outside our room started before 8 am both days- on the second day it was closer to 7 am. Not only that they... More

If you like waking up to the sound of power-tools this hotel is for you! Once rudely awoken you may choose to head to reception to book a hire car (note. the car rental service supplied by the hotel does not allow for pre-booking)...then you will spend at least an hour waiting to be told that unfortunately there are no...
