Lovely cottage in a fabulously peaceful vineyard setting. Helen is an outstanding B&B provider, generous with her time & attention. The cottage is extremely comfortable with extra spaces for luggage. The bathroom was nicely outfitted including spacious shower & quality products. Highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful, private and well-appointed cottage in the heart of wine country. Helen went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Well-stocked fridge, local wines, walk across the vineyards for dinner. Oh, and the fresh cherries! We wish we could have stayed longer. Cannot recommend enough.

August 2023 - Three night stay in cottage #2. Wow! Beautiful setting in the vineyard, perfectly furnished and laid out cottage (small stand alone house actually), self catering facilities and an included basket breakfast of delicious bread, granola, yogurt, local jams and honey, local fresh milk, and coffee. Spotlessly clean, quality, and well maintained property. Really, this was a place I stayed at and amazed 'they thought of everything'! There are only two units on the property, which is a working farm/vineyard. We met the owners on arrival and they were super friendly, lovely people. Great tips for vine touring and local attractions and dining advice. We were given a coupon for a free bottle of house wine (an excellent Sauvignon Blanc) which was stocked in the fridge and cupboard. They even offered the use of a washing machine at their home should we need it. Absolutely got a good vibe from this couple. It was so nice to come back from a day of wine touring and relax on the patio enjoying a glass of wine at sunset. At night very quiet and a great bed for great sleep quality. A really perfect stay - I didn't find any negatives at Walnut Block, which was gorgeous! Our first time to Marlborough (and New Zealand), part of a months long driving holiday, and my partner could not have been more pleased with my choice of lodging. I have all the pressure of selecting where to stay on our holidays and she loved Walnut Block! Thank you Clyde and Helen - job well done! We are confident in giving an excellent recommendation and truly hope to visit again.

This was our favorite place to stay in our entire month-long trip. It was a bit of a splurge for us but so worth it! What a gorgeous setting- to open the drapes in the morning and see the vineyards 20 feet away. The owners were very helpful also. Our cottage was well stocked with breakfast yummies, the place was uber clean, the bathroom floor was heated (!) and it is in the middle of the Marlborough wine region. Pure bliss.

What a wonderful place to stay- in the middle of a vineyard! The nicest hosts and the place is super clean- and the bathroom floor is even heated!! Nicely stocked for breakfast. Great location too. You will want to just move in and stay forever.

We stayed in cottage 2, one of two cottages here, located about a 6-7 minute drive from Blenheim. The cottages are beautifully appointed, with a full kitchen containing everything you need if you want to stay in for a meal. It’s roomy, including plenty of room to unpack your bags. The cottage is stocked for a full continental breakfast, including the ability to make lattes. You face the vineyard only feet away so the area is extremely quiet. This is a great place to kick back and relax as you enjoy the area. Helen and Clyde, the hosts, are very helpful and gracious. Great stay!

The cottage is one of two on the edge of the owner’s vineyard with a small deck to sit on and enjoy the view. It’s well designed with a large comfortable super-king bed , lounge area with sofa and chair and then a dining and well equipped kitchen area . This is all open plan . Behind the bed is a cleverly walled of large dressing room and separate bathroom with shower . Air con/ heating is very effective . The gas barbecue was new , very clean and even had an extra griddle plate . The property is about 8 minutes drive from the town centre restaurants , a bit too far and remote to walk but taxis are available Everything was available that we needed including tea and nespresso or filter coffee , and oil and condiments to cook if wanted There is the added bonus on wine from their vineyard to buy in the cottage - an excellent Chardonnay ( we bought one for a very reasonable $25 , Sauvignon bland or Pinot noir . I’m pretty sure the other two would have been as good as the Chardonnay We had a very good stay , quiet and able to watch the sun setting and warming up over the vines

One of two gorgeous cottages situated in lovely surroundings. Everything you could want for a comfortable stay plus all the little extras Helen supplies. Very peaceful just sitting on the deck admiring the view, wandering through the vines or watching the birds in the walnut tree. However many nights you had planned to stay add one extra so you can just spend time in this space enjoying a glass or two of Walnut Block wine. This had been on my list of places to stay and it did not disappoint.

A truly magical place to spend some time. The cottage is located in the vineyard so when your in bed you look out directly at vines. You can also loose yourself walking through the grapes- which is great fun. It has a lounge and well equipped kitchen. The cottage is clean and very well maintained with all the thinks you might expect. I’d highly recommend Walnut Block for your next getaway. It’s a romantic spot, out of town that makes you feel like you’ve had a very special escape. Taxis to and from town are quick and easy.
