My partner and I stayed at Koanui for two months. We both got work through the hostel the week we arrived, though that can obviously vary depending on local demand. We stayed in the hostel building which is a bit older, we had a private double room and shared bathroom facilities. The manager is really helpful, has lots of local...

I stayed 1 week there for 145$ bbh price with no wifi. In a 6 beds dorm, with a bathroom (private but for every guests ???!!!) They find a job for their guests but guests can wait 2 or 3 weeks before to get a job. The kitchen is very dirty, clean every morning but a lot of guests aren't...

Hi Stephanie - many thanks for taking the time to review our hostel, we value all feedback. It would appear you stayed in our newer Lodge building, which admittedly is a little more expensive than the older hostel rooms. As we are nearly full all of the time with long term seasonal workers, unfortunately we often only have the most...

My partner and I stayed at Koanui for roughly 3 months while we worked to save up some money and continue our travels South. So long as you have your passport, bank account number, IRD number, and proof of address, it's easy peasy to find a job in the vineyards and factory (factory workers are those travellers who are willing...

I can honestly reccomend this place to anyone looking for work. I was offered a couple of different jobs, shortly after arrival and felt like thats also applied to the other guests as well? Hostel is clean and relatively quiet as most of the people are working here. Could have a couple more showers and toilets and wifi was quiet...

I spent 10 weeks in Koanui and I wish I could have stayed longer. You get to know the people so well that at the end you will be part of a family. The hostel is in a unbeateable location, close to supermarket and town and if you work in a factory a bus comes to get you everyday. It's...

I arrived to Blenheim to find work. Of all working hostels only Koanui offered to find it for me. After a few days I started container loading and work on a vineyard after that. Luke and his staff have it all figured out. They are incredibly helpful and friendly. Weekends can be a bit wild, but I didn't mind the...

But you as you know travelling is full of surprises and I finally ended up here staying 5 months, and I have to be thankful to Koanui !! From the beginning Luke, the manager, assisted me...

Like many others, I came to Koanui to find a Job somewhere on the vineyards. I had no idea I would end up staying 9 months! I truly fell in love with this place and the people living there. It's a great place für backpackers and overnight guests. Backpackers will be able to quickly find a job in the area,...

Koanui is THE place to stay in Blenheim if you're looking for a job. It's a working hostel so during the week it's pretty quiet, but during the weekend they organise activities like saturdaynight games and cool hikes on sundays and ofcourse we love to share a drink and head into town for a dance. There is a hostel part...

Koanui is a working hostel in Blenheim, situated in a working class town with new world supermarket within walking distance, and it's a 10min walk from the train station. It has two buildings - the old hostel which houses the longer-term working guests, and the newer lodge which have ensuite rooms for overnight guests. Importantly, cleaning staff at Koanui go...
