Great Area to stay nice village feel. Hotel was comfortable the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a free continental breakfast which was a bonus as we weren't expecting one,and the food in the restaurant was good. Easy walk to the rose garden and not too far into town for the cable car.The museum Te Papa is also worth a... More

Forget the smart modern often-sterile hotel rooms in downtown hotels and step back to an era of comfort, space and friendly hospitality in an historic area walking distance from the railway station, parliament and the Botanical Gardens. It's family-friendly with big rooms that have an extra single bed and can fit a rollaway if you need an overnight stop before... More

Comfortable hotel located in the lovely Thorndon neighborhood with close proximity to town. Hotel rooms are a bit dated and pretty basic but absolutely fine for a quick stay. I stayed in room 7 which was a good size with a double and single bed. It overlooked the road and had a nice little view up towards the Botanic Gardens... More

Nice friendly staff, simple ample food, good family atmosphere. Sunday evening lots of families but plenty of space. Nice homely atmosphere. No need to book. For those interested a clean (heated in winter) smoking area to the side so no need to go onto the street.

My wife and I stayed here for a night. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the city center and the ferry. We got a pretty large room, well-kept and clean. The bathroom was tiny. Storage space in the room was limited. A major downside is that the room didn't have heating. This is a problem if you... More

It's a good option if you're staying only for a night. Gets noisy in the night because of the front street. Breakfast is served at a common table outside and then not looked upon even if it needs refill. Parking option is a great relief. All in all a decent place at a decent price.

The WIFI would lose connection frequently and the sky TV did not work at all. Luckily we were out of the room for the most part of our stay. The on site parking was convenient and the fruit in the hallway the next morning was nice.

After a long day of traveling this place was perfect for us to stay overnight..... once rest of family arrived. Great atmosphere in bar and dining areas. The food was fantastic which also had good selection for those who are Gluten Free. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The unit I stayed in had a large spa bath, quality carpet in the room (although it may not win any awards for design), and super clean, crisp linen on the bed. This is not a fancy place but for the money it was good value. Quick trip into the city makes the location good. Easy free parking was great.... More

The bathroom we had was very small with a shower and toilet where you were hardly able to close the sliding door. The bedroom was a good size but could have done with additional cleaning i.e dusty light fitting etc. However it was in a nice area close to the botanic garden and the cable car and had a good...
