Bad parking. Others were parked badly and so no one else could find a space. Not enough parks for the units provided. When I rang the office to say there were no parks available it was said I should have reserved one on booking. I wasn't aware this had to be done and wasn't asked at the time of booking... More

Very small rooms in the building itself however the units out the back looked pretty good. The room we have was very very small the door hit the bed as you went in and was a juggle to squeeze the suitcase through as well as yourself. There was two fairly big stains on our rooms Wall they looked like coffee???... More

Halswell was perfect for our 3 day stay in Wellington. Tired, but clean, quiet and very comfortable, also very close to amenities. Good value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only problem were the stairs and short but steep driveway, a challenge for the elderly, which we are! All the same, we would certainly stay there again.

Welcoming and smiling people from the reception is the best thing you could expect upon arrival. We took a large room with full kitchen facilities. Coffee, tea, chocolate and milk provided. Generous wifi allowance. Good location.

Very friendly and helpful staff on reception, free wifi, kettle with tea, coffee, milk etc in room, fridge in room, great location (we loved Sweet Mothers Kitchen restaurant!). Was a bit noisy at night but not too bad. Kitchen is small but adequate as we seemed to be the only people using it. Can't really fault it for value for... More

I was attending a conference and stayed at the Halswell after a couple nights at the Ibis in order to save some dollars. It was indeed a savings and was clean with lots of hot water in the shower, but I had a small room with a faucet that took terrific hand strength to turn off and keep it from... More

Close to the city centre and free parking and wifi , but that's all , the room was old and tatty but clean .The pictures on their website are misleading if you're looking for close to Cuba Street and aren't fussy then this motel / lodge might suit you we however wouldn't go near the place again.

Central Location is pretty good, although if I visited again I'd be looking to be nearer cuba street as that seems to be where more stuff is happening, saying that it's about a 10 minute walk away. The room is basic, but clean. I stayed on the ground floor which was a little noisy in the mornings with the staff.... More

Brilliant location in Kent Terrace near Courtney Place. 2 min walk to buses servicing all of Wellington city and suburbs including Airport and Railway Station. Three types of accommodation available in low cost rooms, motel units and a superb Lodge with luxurious rooms and spa baths. Location within walking distance of all major Tourist attractions.

Spent 3 nights in the 1920's house at the rear of the property. Large room comfortable bed and no traffic noise from the busy Kent Terrace road. Room furnished with old furniture in keeping with the building. Large bathroom but no hand towels provided so had to ask for them. Downstairs a large well equipped kitchen where we able to... More
